Lighting Flashed over head followed by a loud KA-BOOOM of thunder. Deep in what looked like a never ending forest of dead trees a glowing portal popped up and four teenage girls fell out. Akina, Miku, Sora, and Ren stared open mouthed at where they had ended up.
"wh-where in the world are we?" Sora asked nervously.
"Are we even in OUR world?" Ren answered with a question of her own.
"um...guys," Miku said shaking "look down." They did.
Their modern yet dirty orphanage clothing had been replaced. Akina was now wearing a pair of brown-ish green pants, a long sleeve green cotton shirt, and a dark brown vest. Ren was in light blue pants and a very fancy looking blue long sleeve silk shirt. Sora was dressed in grey leggings and a pale yellow sort sleeve shirt with matching bracelets. Miku was wearing a japanese looking top that was dark red and orange and matching pants with a black belt. They all looked strangely like battle clothes.
After a long pause of staring at there clothing Miku screamed;
"HOW THE HECK DID WE GET IN THESE CLOTHES!!!"
Akina took a deep breath, trying hard to hide how scared and shocked she was. "well," she said, a little loud, " we know where this portal leads. Now let's head Ba-" Akina suddenly let out an ear piercing shriek.
"what!?" the other three girls asked nervously.
"The portal's gone!" Akina cried. Sure enough, there was no longer a glowing portal no mater where you looked. All there was was a forest of dark dead tree's creating creeping shadows in all directions.
"you- you mean we can't get b-back?" Miku stuttered, and then she completely blacked out.

I hate myself with my forgetting to update stories.... so I have more!!

A pair of black eyes met Miku's as she opened her eyes at last. The eyes, she realized with a jolt, belonged to a small floating, glowing orb. It shone a clear yellow, like a light bulb with eyes. It had no mouth yet Miku was able to understand the voice that echoed from it.
"So you're, finally awake..."The voice sounded human, like a male probably no older than the four girls themselves. "...miss?" He added, for Miku had pushed herself up, despite being dizzy and was staring at it -him- with an expression of shock and...fear. It was only a second before it burst from her.
"W-Wh-What Is Th-Th-THAT!?" She exclaimed pointing at it, her mouth wide open as she tried to scoot herself as far from it as possible with her other hand.
"Miku's awake." Ren's calm voice commented. She had her back against one of the forest tree's and looked, although being internally worried and scared as the anyone would be, completely at ease.
"Oh Miku!" Sora was instantly next to Miku's side. "You were out for a long time and we afraid we wouldn't find a doctor in this forest in Who-knows-where."
"No one's answered me," Miku said, trying to sound calm, and failing. "What is THAT?"
Akina skidded over at that point. She smiled down at the orb as if looking at a baby kitten, picked it up and squeezed it tight. "Oh, she found us while you were out, isn't she cute!?"
"Would you let go of me" The male voice echoed from the glowing ball, sounding annoyed now, " and I'm a HE."
Miku chuckled slightly at that comment. Akina stopped beaming aimlessly at the ball in her hands to look at Miku. Sora and Ren were looking at her too.
"What's so funny?" Ren finally asked. Miku wasn't the type to smile very often, even back when they were little kids.
"Just what he said." Miku said. The expressions of the three girls who looked at her changed from mild bewilderment to complete shock.
Because none of them had heard a single sound.
The ball's attention was caught by her comment as well, he managed to get free of Akina's hold and floated - yes, miku noted, it floated - over toward her.
"you...really... can? You really do know what I'm saying!? Truly!?"
All Miku could do was nod.
The light bulb-ish glow brightened to almost blinding light.
"Wait," Miku said quietly, it was a bit awkward to speak with someone one you could hear, "if you're used to people not being able to hear you why did you bother speaking to begin with?"
"Wishful thinking." The male voice responded "I always try to speak when I see people with the hope that there might be someone like you out there." He said 'someone like you' in a tone of high respect.
"Have there been others? Who understand you?" Miku asked.
"No, you are the only one. I'm am incredibly happy to have found you. By the way, what is you're name?"
"Miku." She answered, smiling again. Then, suddenly aware of her friends confused stares she added, "and that's Sora, Ren, and Akina." They each nodded at there name, seeming to understand the conversation better.
"A pleasure" He said, forgetting they couldn't hear, "I am Hikaru."
Miku translated for her friends, then Akina got an idea.
"Hikaru, we need help getting back to the place we are from," She quickly explained the portal and it's disappearance " Do you know of any way back?"
"I'm sorry, I do not." Hikaru said sadly, "however, if you would like, and I'd understand if you don't, I'm perfectly willing to help you find your way. Since you're not from here I think being a guide is the best thing I could do to help you."
Miku translated that as well, and after a series of glances Ren nodded. "We'd be very glad to have a... native from here help us out. Thank you."
Hikaru's glow brightened.


yeah it's random, but Hikaru is my favorite character.
 
The glowing sphere's response to Akina reminds me a bit of Reepicheep's touchy reaction to being called cute.
