reepicheep?

If only reepicheep were spanish, because then Antonio Banderez could do it! Just kidding...he he he.

Hey, it could work, what with the way he's always twirling his whiskers as if they were a mustache. :D

Something tells me it'll be someone with a British accent though. And I've always imagined his voice as pretty chirpy myself.

Here's a thought.

How about Joe Pasquale?

He has a fairly strong voice, but it's also very high :D

If anyone doesn't know who he is, it's this man :

I think he'd be okay, maybe not the best choice, but it's certainly a high, male voice, and it's the first one I thought of.

Yet I agree about the hint of a French accent maybe, not strong but just a teeny tinge on the tip of the tongue that some French people have. Plus, a younger, but not young voice. If you get what I mean.

It would have to be someone English, because in all the Narnia books, I think of all the characters having English voices.
In the LWW movie Maugrim was voiced by an American. Why do they have to be British? I don't have anything against British accented characters, it's just that I don't think all of them have to be British.

Anyway, I imagine Reepicheep as sort of the Puss in Boots of Narnia. He looks so cute and cuddly on the outside, you just want to pick him up and cuddle him. But he could gut you like a fish before you could say Cair Paravel.

hehehe. That made me laugh. When I read that I pictured a mouse doing the whole Puss in Boots thing with the sword.

Instead of "Puss...(Carve P into the side of the tree) In Boots"
Something like "Ree...(Carve R into the side of a tree) picheep"

I think they'll go with a woman using a more masculine tone, the voice will have to be shrill and child like, it would not be reasonable for anything else to come out of a small body, and most of the time when casters need such a voice they use a woman, like the fact that a woman voices Bart Simpson.
As for an Actress...donno, but I'd say some one with voice over experiance.

Sir Anthony Hopkins is my first suggestion. Or Pete Postlethwaite. Then again I wouldn't mind them being among the 13 Dwarfs in the Hobbit movie should that ever come out.

FVD.

I think in Reepicheep's case they can deviate from the book and not give him a high squeeky voice. Reepicheep is NOT a comic figure and should be treated with respect. Does anyone remember the The King and Odie Show?

The voice of Odie is a very good model of how Reepicheep's voice could be handled - a soft, mid-range mans voice which is very measured and courtly.

I think that takes away from his character though. I think one of the reasons Lewis chose to give him that shrill voice was so that he could set up confrontations with other characters who doubt him. If you give him a more normal voice then it lessens that aspect of his character. For example, give him Anthony Hopkins voice and it seems a little rediculous to challenge him...even perhaps at his size. You give him a lordly voice and it ruins his character in my opinion. Reep's a character that always has to prove himself, that's what's admirable about him. He is the prime example that appearances can be deceving, and his voice is a big part of the impression he gives off to others. Reep proves himself through actions, I say keep the shrill voice. Give him a girl's voice as was suggested.

what about rowan atkinson.i think he could actually do the part rather well. he has the masculinity and he does have penchant for hitting high notes on occasion :D seriously, i think it would be perfect

I dunno, I've never seen him in a serious role...always comedy. He may be able to hit the tone but I don't know if he can play the role. Not saying he can't, I just don't know that he could.

I understand wanting to keep Reep as close to the book as possiable...but he was respectable, though also rather amusing, but a lot of people will not take him seriously if he has a squeaky voice.....and they wont be able to get past it.....errrk people!!!

dont really care about the first to but I dont think that Colin Firth (if he is the guy I think he is)would do a good job. Hugh Grant...maybe. O.B. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!NONONONO!!!NEVER!!I WOULD NOT WATCH THE MOVIE! AND I WOULD LIKE WRIGHT A LETTER TELLING THAT GUY WHY!!...! NO! and Johny Depp...maybe.
