Sonnets Here, In-House

I'm touched beyond words at reading that... it's an honor to this board that you've posted it. Thank you for letting us read it... it truly was beautiful..

Home...

Thank you for sharing, Joseph. As more and more of our loved ones personally make the transition to Heaven, it draws closer and closer to our hearts, coming clearer and clear into focus. Home...!

You may post a poem here if you wish; but this thread was begun by me, and almost all the poems here were composed by me as a way of saluting the forum neighbors. I refer to it as "sonnetizing" them.

CF, I somehow missed the LM sonnet earlier. I am glad someone re-posted it so that I could remark on how much it mirrored my feelings about one of my first friends on here.

As to the poem about Mary, it was very lovely.

I don't think I've sonnetized Lava up till now

~ FOR LAVA ~

She's Aslan's follower in make-believe,
Which echoes how she follows Christ for real;
As fox or tiger, she makes roleplay breathe,
Portraying beasts of courage stout as steel.

Defying magic winter in the game,
And born in winter in reality,
This woman drew breath in the very same
Cold month when Submarine School shuttled me

To culmination of its basic course.
My first Atlantic Ocean cruise was when
She might have ridden on a rocking-horse.
And now that I have put to sea again

In make-believe, good Lava's come on board;
How cool--we now are shipmates in the Lord!

= For = Catherine

I've lived with dogs for almost all my life,
Though I confess, by now I'm tired of them;
This doesn't mean that I am quick to gripe
At others wanting a four-footed friend.

Which brings to mind our Catherine, who comes
Out of her super-secret hiding place,
Presumably to take her dogs on runs,
On which they help her keep a lively pace.

I understand she's fond of L.S.U.,
And Harry Potter (I don't join in that).
She's fond of muffins and of cookies too;
But she works out enough not to be fat.

So Catherine, I wish you only good;
I'll wave if you jog through my neighborhood.

For DestinyLies

A girl called Candi, or "DestinyLies,"
Loves popcorn just as much as M & M's.
I hear she went once to evangelize
Jamaica, in the company of friends.

I hear that she would like to meet the Poles--
Not North and South, but Slavic, I assume.
I've been there once, and gone inside the walls
Of Malbork Castle, which has lots of room.

I'll say this, girl: in Poland you will find
Enough cool sights for banners ten or more,
If Putin can't achieve what's on his mind--
Enslaving Eastern Europe as before.

You have incentive to pray faithfully,
So you can tour a Poland that is free.
