Stuff that has made you cry...

Snape's childhood, and Snape's death, in fact I have a lump in my throat just thinking about it..., and everything at the end of the 6th book.
Can't believe if I forgot to say DH makes me cry a lot, every time I read it, particularly the end when Harry learns the truth about (dying) Snape, and when Harry has to go face Voldemort and his parents and Sirius and Lupin go with him ...
I was watching TV tonight and there is this new "Pampers" commercial advertising how if you buy them, you help give vaccines to babies so they dont die of tetnaus....and then they tell you that like hundreds of babies dont live to see their first birthday because of the disease.
Something similar to that used to happen to me, but it wasn't a commercial, and it didn't even have any words. It was on PBS and I don't know what it was, cuz they don't have commercials, but it aired quite a bit, and it had short, short clips of immigrants coming to America, black and white film, of people on boats and in New York harbor or whatever. There was one little boy, he was clutching a tiny American flag in front of him, obviously still on the ship because the wind was whiffling the flag, and he looked, not happy, maybe, nervous ... just the sight of him would bring tears to my eyes. God knows where he was coming from, and I'm sure he didn't know where he was going to, but he had his little flag -- I'm getting tears in my eyes just thinking about him.

Let's see...

The Last Battle
made me cry at the end, because it was so beautiful

The Lion King when Mufasa died

Titanic

Legend, when Jack was kneeling on the ground begging for an apology from the Unicorn after what had happened. It was beautiful and sad.

The Last Unicorn when Amalthea was back as a unicorn and all the other unicorns were out of the ocean and Amalthea took one last look back at the others before taking off. I thought it was beautiful. :)

The book written by Terri Irwin about her husband made me cry at the end.

I think that's it.

I don't think I mentioned the original The Fox and The Hound by Disney. I watched it today and cried *yet again*.

Goodbye may seem forever,
Farewell is like the end
but in my heart's a memory,
and there you'll always be.

*sniffs*

The book 'Anita and Me'.

The part in 'The Prince of Egypt' when Moses goes after the lamb into the cave, and sees the burning bush, and God speaks to him. It was beautifully done.

And 'Bridge to Terabithia'.

Except that it wasn't entirely accurate. Prince of egypt was a BIG disappointment in that it really diverted from the Biblical account. Even though I like it...for accuracy, I prefer the ten Commandments. AT least it's mostly accurate.

I understand..the 2003 Peter Pan did the same thing to me for the same reason...:(
Yeah, that's the movie I meant. I don't think I could actually... feel too sad with, "Second star to the right! Shines in the night for you to tell you that the dreams you plan really can come true!" I can't believe I know those lyrics.

Yes, I know it wasn't THAT accurate, but I still loved it because it actually made me feel something.

I'm not much of a crier when in comes to books or movies, but the one thing that always makes me cry is Mufasa's death in "The Lion King". It's not even his dying as much as it is Simba trying to wake him up, even though he knows it's not going to work. :( That part gets me every time.

That is so me! I'm not much of a crier, but poor Simba :(

New Moon made me cry almost the whole way through and the end of the amber spyglass which my sister told me about and so i never read it because I didnt want to cry again..Ant the tigger movie made me cry as well....:(:(:(:(

Sweeney Todd. Not because of anybody who died, just because I was watching it and I was like "Oh, this is such a brilliant movie" and was overcome with emotion.

Cough.

My dear salty-heart, what you wrote above shows that, unlike many modern people, you have NOT lost the sense for what the word "awesome" ACTUALLY means. You know what I know: that there is such a thing as things being majestic and inspiring and amazing, not only cool and flashy.

Endings-Only
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by JK Rowling
The Last Battle by CS Lewis
The Return of the King (film)
The Notebook (film)
Phantom of the Opera (stage production and film.) I always know the ending, and I always cry. I dunno why...
Slumdog Millionaire (film)
Finding Neverland

Whole Thing
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (book) by JK Rowling
Rent (film and stage production)
Spring Awakening (stage production; there isn't a film ... yet! :D)
Milk (film) Like with Phantom, I know what's going to happen - because I know the story of Harvey Milk - so perhaps that's why I cry.

I was about to post that. The Lion King made me cry soooooooo many times... lol... I was little back then.
Uhhhh... the book I was reading made me cry- Inkspell (if anyone's read it, you probably know what I mean), and Romeo and Juliet (the movie) did... Goodness I'm a softie.
AND- The Phantom of the Opera- the end where Christine RUTHLESSLY dumps Erik for that disgusting Raoul and Erik is just heartbroken made me cry.
When I say cry, I don't mean the sobbing and all that stuff. Just a few tears.

Eughhh I hate Erik/Phantom. He's such a creeper. I mean, it's a brilliant character, but he's so creepy..............................

Mmmm... Above all song by Michael W. Smith... A friend of mine was singing it and it sounded so beautiful that it made me cry.
