I'm flattered by everyone's attention! I never took any steps to acquire an avatar, because (1) I'm a computer-graphics dinosaur, and (2) I have other things to think about.
It had crossed my mind to try to get help creating an avatar which would incorporate the faces of both of my deceased wives; but besides the technical difficulties, two images inside one avatar-box would be tiny and cramped. If I ever get an "album" organized, Mary and Janalee can be more fittingly honored there.
I do like the Peter-as-"Hero" image offered by the lovely Dayhawk. (It fits with my defending Peter's honor against weaselly revisonists.) Without demeaning the heart-warming good intentions behind the first-proposed fox image, I agree with the also-lovely Inkling that I like to think of myself as rather more constant than a weathervane. For those who didn't know, my Latin motto is "Ut fidem praestem in difficultate," which means, "Let me be faithful in adversity."
