I think it was actually Eugene who had a thing for Brunettes. It is hard to say which way I like her hair better. Her hair as a blonde actually kind of bothered my older sister but I do agree with Sir Godfrey that it had more uses. I really liked it braided and it kind of made me nostalgic when it was braided because though my hair was not nearly so long (not even remotely close) I liked weaving my hair in braids kind of like that. I also like it brunette because it kind of complimented her face and it definitely showed the family resemblance better. Unfortunately, there is a lot less that can be done with shoulder length or slightly above shoulder length hair. I know this from experience.

Today I picked up a copy of the Tangled Video Game for Nintendo Wii. I look foward to playing it. :)

Tell us what it's like! I'm curious. I didn't even know there was such a thing.

I really like your avatar, by the way.:D

Last night we had a game night at the church building, and some of the kids were watching Tangled. It made me happy.:D

I shall as soon as I have opportunity to play it. :)

Thank thee for thy compliment.

I saw this 2 weeks ago for the first time. It was still at the $1.50 theater the weekend it came out on DVD. I have a neighbor kid who walks my dogs for me and I treat him to a movie of his choice(I got off easy this time vs a new release :D ) then buy him an action figure. His mom thinks it's a win/win. I get my dogs walked and she isn't asked as constantly for a new toy. For the record Voyage of the Dawn Treader was our movie back in December!

Anyway I found the movie to be cute. It played to it's target audience very well. I was a bit surprised at how many were there seeing as how the movie was also on DVD. In a 200 seat theater there were easily 150 people there with 5-10yr olds in tow. IMO, that is a lot of people at a cinema when they could've Redboxed it for $1 and gone home. I guess the lure of the 'big screen' still holds sway at times.

Grade: B+

Review: Tangled gets 3/5 stars

I just finished watching the movie for the first time, and I honestly can't say if I liked it a great deal or not....

First of all, I thought the story was well written. It was fun, and all the plot elements were explained fairly well and simply. Second, Mandy Moore and Zachary levi did excellent on their songs, actually so did Donna Murphy (Mother Goethel).

Some of the music I didn't care for at all (the tavern scene was one instance), but most of it was good. I still think How to Train your Dragon's soundtrack beats it, though. My most favorite scene was probably the lantern scene(s); I thought it was the most magical.

I honestly expected to hate it, which I don't; BUT, the jury is still out on just how much I liked it. I really have a mixed opinion on this, and I tried very hard not to watch it with expectations. All in all, it gets a 3 out of 5 stars from me. (And maybe when I watch it again, I'll have more to say about it).

Note: I did love Pascal. He's like a small, green version of Toothless. :D

That's what I thought too.:p:D
I feel the same way about the music, but then I think the How to Train your Dragon soundtrack beats most soundtracks, except of course Lord of the Rings and maybe the Prince Caspian score and select few others (at least that's what I think).;)

I'm glad you liked the movie though.:)

What did you dislike about it? Was it just not your personal style?

I don't know what I disliked about it really...I mean it was cute, and it had some funny bits...

Like I said, I'll have to watch it again to be sure; last night I didn't get much sleep so my brain has been running on empty most of the day (though I did manage to get into a debate with a classmate today over gas prices and environmental "pollution" I think I won. :p )

xD Nice. Winning debates is fun.

I love the movie, because it's right down my alley with the things in movies I appreciate most, and is mostly clean. But if it's not your thing, well... it's not your thing.

I'll look forward to hearing what you think of it the second time through.

Winning the debate was only fun because she had no idea of what she was talking about (especially when she claimed that Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed by God because they were destroying the environment. I'm not sure which Bible she's reading, but that's not the version I know.)

I did like the frying pan thing though; especially at the end when all the soldiers had them. Oh yes, and nobody told me that Flynn came back to life! I thought that when he died, he was dead. So I was somewhat surprised anyway. :p

I liked it as well, it's hands-down the best Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) film since the end of the Disney Renaissance (1988 (Mermaid)-2000 (Fantasia 2000) ). It is well scripted and the relationship between Rapunzel and Flynn feels real and not forced. I also liked how Mother Gothel, seems to have some affection for her Daughter, but her vanity overrides everything she does (Heck, what parent would take a three day trip to get paint?). I did like how they avoided stereotypes on most characters, instead fleshing them out (with the exception of the thugs in the Snuggly Duckling). I also liked how the Light could be seen as a short of parallel to Christ's Love, and how symbolism in religion will not save you. For example lets see Rapunzel's long magical hair as a Cross. It's not God itself (here can be seen as the power from the 'Sun'), but rather a representation. Gothel thinks the hair will save her, and not to give anything away- it proves faulty in the end. However the Deleted scene alluded in the credit illustrations, (the Monkey fortune teller) and the scene itself took that form of Witchcraft and made it into a funny gag (I had a problem with The Princess and the Frog's use of Voodoo in a magical way, but constricting the use of Christian Imagery). Other than that the only thing that bothered me, is that the music is not very memorable- excluding 'Mother knows Best' I just can't remember it after the movie like I can other Disney musicals. Ok, that was my take. Can't wait for your review AK!!

^That was my review. :p I did think it was a little far-fetched that Rapunzel would suddenly have flashbacks about her being an infant...I mean, who's memory is that good?

It wasn't really a flashback though, was it? I thought she was just putting the pieces together from what she had seen in her older years. (Like the giant mosaic in the town square.)

SoA, how funny that you would say the songs aren't memorable! I love them, and I don't usually like Disney songs at all! :p But that's just my personal taste.

Whoops! I remembered reading your earlier post and must have qouted the newer one without reading it! Pascal is cute, I love how he keeps waking Flynn with his tongue.

Seriously? Those songs have been stuck in my head for longer than any other songs ever have (like 3-4 days at least! and they're still going!). They alternate too. It gets rather annoying after a while.

Tangled: The Video Game

Last night I twas playing Tangled The Video Game on the Wii. It twas quite engrossing, I confess I enjoyed playing Rapunzel frolicking amongst the flowers, breathing new life in dead plants via her golden lockes. Flynn tis fun too, his sword and his passion for treasure is amusing. :D

You know what Tangled reminds me of? It reminds me of Romeo and Juliet and the Aristocats. It reminds me of Romeo and Juliet because it takes place in about the same time (two days) and because Flynn dies at the end and then there's the whole concept of forbidden love and all...
It reminds me of the Aristocats because well, the plot isn't that different. A traveling rogue finds a pretty girl (or cat) and agrees to help take her somewhere (in Tangled its to see the lanterns and in the Aristocats its so Duchess and the kittens can get home) AND they both end up singing and dancing in the weirdest places.:p The ends of both are kinda similar too- the hero comes to save the girl and then they get married and live happily ever after.

Bet'cha never thought of that before did ya?:p
