Telmarine accent

Well, I don´t care about accents, I am not an english speaker, so basically they all sound the same to me.

But, I can say, if there are accents... Telmarines accents were real, but Ben Barnes´, becoz he is British, so probably his accent was forced... anywayz it sounds good for me.

But the other Telmarines´ accents were real, becoz they are not english-speakers.

I know King Miraz speaks Italian, native language, course, but I have hear him speaking Spanish and also he speak Spanish like a native too.
Now he speaks english very well. So the others.

(great, everybody can speak english)

But really, accents are not important, at least for non-english speakers, so who cares :D
 
I do care about accents, those of native speakers of a language or not; I found it really interesting to observe; I'm just not very good at identifying them...

But yeah Caspiansgirl, I also have a thing for british, it sounds really nice to the ear. Sometimes I like to watch BBC just to hear them talking. :D Though American is often easier to understand, maybe because I listen it more often.

In the movie, I think the Italian-speaking actors had a nicer accent than the Spanish ones (but that's probably because I think Italian sounds nicer than Spanish ;) )

Theres Ben at the LA Times Book Festival, he was reading from the Prince Caspian book. (you can see the video of him reading, its on youtube. he sounds so wonderful...lol.) He's not exactly *very* pale, but he is definitely not anywhere near as tan as Caspian is, the tan he had in the movie was a fake one they put on him everyday.

Yeah,he does look lighter...:pBut his skins still much darker than mine,lol.....


I love foreign accents.:DI love English of course,and irish and Welsh.But my absolute favorite is Scottish.*sighs happily*:p
 
For the persona that the Telmarines were given in the movie it was a good thing to have an accent. I hope that as things go on and the Telmarines mingle with or even marry (Archenlanders and such) the British sounding peoples of Narnia, the accent will be toned down and disappear eventually.

Yes, I was wondering whether Caspian's accent will be as strong in VotDT, and if he has a speaking part in SC - what will it be like then!?

Oh well, I know there are people who cares about accents in english language, but what I said, really, was becoz of my experience.

Basically, the international audience for these movies in english are:
-50% of people are not trained in english enough to recognize accents.
So, no one cares about it :D
-Other 30% watch the movies dubbed. Many countries shows only dubbed movies.
Disney, actually, has all its movies dubbed. I watched PC with subtitles, but the rest of the cinemas were showing the movie dubbed.
So no one cares about accents either :D

-Another 20% of the audience, probably knows english enough to realize about accents, I am really not sure about it, but is not important at all. I am in this percentage and never did care about accents until I saw many discussion about accents in english forums.

So, that´s why, basically :: no one cares about accents... only english speakers. :D

And I find this very funny, actually; for an english audience: to have the 50% of foreign actors speaking english, no matter how good they are in english, always have accents, and the other half are native english speakers but faking or forcing accents...

By the way, maybe the Italian actors speaks english better than the Spanish and Mexicans. Their accents may sound better so. I really don´t know. But
Italians can speak Spanish and Spanish can speak Italian very easy.

Yes, this really annoys me, I usually don't like dubbed movies. They rarelly get good people to dub them, so it usually sound fake. I guess most of them don't act, as they don't even try to make the voice follow the emotion of the character, which actors always try to portray. The exception would be animated movies, which generaly have really good dubbers (does this word exist? :D ). Disney's classics, for example; I've seen most of them almost only in Portuguese, and they're really well dubbed.

I don't understand. Your grandparents watched English-dubbed movies in Mexico? I thought they would be Spanish-dubbed... :confused:

But I suppose I'm getting quite off-topic here...
