The Avengers (2012)

I am so excited to see this movie and sad. My best friend, who introduced me to all the characters, is leaving to go to basic in two days and will not be here with me to watch it. I will be buying it for him as a gift.

So excited for this movie. It looks like fun on a stick. I'm still a little bummed that they could'nt have given Hawkeye some sort of mask or helmet and the new Captain America suit for the film couldn't have actual silver wings, but that just me. Silly little details I know. I'ma bit of a dork, I guess.

Loki is just one the greatest villians and I can't wait to see how this all works out onscreen. Thumbs way up.

I'd like to know if you guys are OK with spoilers or not on this thread? I don't know anything TOO major, but I do know some things that may excite you.

I am insanely excited for this movie, and I plan to go to see it at Regal with my brother and sister the day it comes out!

It's gotten phenomenal review so far (95% on Rotten Tomatoes for example) and I have great courage that it will rock!

I wish that Spider-Man was going to be in Avengers. I also wish that Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer) was a two-handed war-hammer. I also wish that Iron Man wasn't such a jerk. *sigh* Oh well...

Just because Iron Man is a jerk, doesn't mean he's a bad character.. They can't make all the Avengers completely happy cookie cutter people. Iron Man has an IMMENSE character.

Actually even in the comics, Spider-Man didn't join the Avengers until fairly recently. He turned down membership in the earliest incarnations of the team's roster. ( AKA, he was too much of a "name" for the Avengers.)

And right on with Iron Man ( and the team dynamics), ahyperdude.

Okay, I've been hyperventilating for about the last 4 hours because FX is having their "Superhero" movies day: i.e. they've been showing Fantastic Four, Iron Man (right now), The Hulk (2008), etc. AND they've been showing clips/sneak peeks of The Avengers. Oh my gosh, I'm so psyched right now for this weekend! I wasn't planning on seeing it so soon, but all these previews are making it really hard to wait even for Friday!!! :D

A friend and I went to see "The Avengers" on Saturday, and we are both in agreement that it was a SUPERB film! I shan't say anything about it, as many subscribers to The dancing Lawn may not have done so yet. To those, I say, Go and see it: you will NOT be disappointed!

The British are so lucky because they got it at least a full week before we did in the States! :( But, I'm planning on seeing it either this weekend or next. :D

Going to the midnight premier tonight with some of my friends. Every year we make a point to go at least one midnight showing since graduating college. It's like our Superbowl.

Thanks for posting that link, AK.

Gah! I'm going to the midnight show tonight too with one of my friends! So excited! :D

Just returned from the movie. See my review in the movie review thread.

One question though: who/what was the character at the end of the film going on about earth and such? I'm lost on that detail.

I just saw the movie as well! It was so amazing! I loved it! I could go on with how awesome it was, but I would probably bore you all to death. And since I can quote movies from memory after seeing them once, I would take a long time! However SPOILER, one of my favorite quotes is in my signature! GO STEVE!

And they're important because.....

Everybody else seemed to know who they were, but I don't know if that is because they've shown up in other films, or because those people had read the comics.

I will add that I just looked on imdb.com, and they listed the two characters as Thanos and the Red Skull.

And can I say: poor NYC keeps getting destroyed in these movies? I think they need to pick another city. :p
