The Battle

yes, I think the fact that they use the same music sparks a certain emotion. Plus it is still the battle scene technically, so I see why they kept the same theme for music...but yes, absolutely beautiful composition.

Best music on the CD, deffenintely one of my favorite songs. I didn't exactly notice it repeated right then, but I had thought that something repeated itself...somewhere...I just didn't knnow what... LOL.

Other then the battle music - the Narnian lulliby is one of my favorites. So...haunting and magical - very interesting.

Has anyone noticed that the music of the battle was played in two different scenes? Specifically, the part where Peter charges with his army after saying "For Narnia and for Aslan!" and the part where Peter is about to fight the Witch after she stabs Edmund. If you listen to the music in the two scenes, they're excatly the same. Who noticed that? (I noticed this long ago but I keep forgetting to post this thread ^_^' :D) Or were you guys too busy watching Will you didn't notice. XD Haha, lol. :D

Harry used some of the same score in "The Battle At Aslan's How" as well in Prince Caspian.

The Battle is probably one of my favorites too. I write fantasy stories, and that soundtrack has given me a lot of inspiration to write good, dramatic scenes heh.

I never noticed the repeating part - I just figured it was part of the one track, just changed a little bit. Still sounds good lol.

Any soundtrack composer is going to re-use melodic phrases--even from film to film. John Williams, when doing the score for "Attack of the Clones," lifted a fragment of music from his earlier score for Mel Gibson's "The Patriot" and inserted it into the scene where Obi-Wan discovers the enemy factory.

By the way, Xenithar, in case you look back here before looking back in "Writing Club," I posted on your story-thread there in hopes of encouraging you.

Eragon had too much repition. Every score sounded the same.

Howard Shore used a lot of repition, but he mixed it up. He used a little of some of the soundtrack from "Mrs. Doubtfire" in LOTR.

I loved Howard Shore's score...He used themes for every concept...like the fellowship and Minas Tirith...etc! But in each song it was changed a little depending on the mood and what was going on in the movie...brilliant composer!!!

Your doing good on your posts Starshine...now you just need a banner!

I've gots myself a banner.

My fave score is "THe BReaking of the Fellowship."

OMG!!! Who know a 50 year old woman like Fran Walsh could sing so AMAZINGLY!

Has anyone here heard the formal symphony that Mr. Shore put together from his LOTR music?

Now that you mention it, I remember a Howard Shore CD that we used to carry at my store with the LotR art on the cover. I wanted to get it, but it got sold and never came back in. Now I want to see if I can find that CD again.

Hm...

No luck really. There is a "creating the symphony" dvd, but no complete recording of the symphony. Apparently, the creating dvd is the one that came with the collector's edition of Fellowship of the Rings and is not available for retail sale.

*Edit* For any TDL'ers from St. Louis, the symphony is going to be playing there this September.

I LOVE the whole score for the Narnia films so far. For me, it totally makes the films. I'm not sure I've specifically paid attention to which part of the score is played in the battle scene, though. *embarrassed* I'll have to watch that movie again.

In areas other than the music, I really like the battle scene for the most part. My favorite part is when the phoenix bursts into flame while flying and draws a line of fire between the armies.
The part I like the least is how everyone speeds up and becomes shadowy as they run past Peter after Aslan kills the witch. Not really sure what they were going for there, but it just looked weird to me...

Hello everyone, in fact it does not have the same music , music from the album made of :
- You Have To Lead Us Peter (M46)
- The Charge (M46)
-Witch Vs Peter / Aslan Kills Witch (M52)

The music "The Charge" end "Witch Vs Peter / Aslan Kills Witch" its different especially at the beginning for "Witch Vs Peter / Aslan Kills Witch" where there is a rolling sybal end the end of The Charge which ends with heartbeats =)

Here is the additional information =)

A bientôt

Tonio.
