Douglas Adams. DOUGLAS ADAMS. DOUGLAS ADAMS! :o Don't tell me you haven't heard of Douglas Adams! GAA! Read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! Or I may be forced to sprinkle my posts with unexplained references to it so I can subconsiously brainwash you to buy the book. Or a towel.

Or a towel? Very good, Fishy.
I haven't read Hitchhiker's Guide yet, either, but I really want to. A friend recommended it to me AGES ago, but I've just been so busy with all the books my other friends have practically FORCED me to read. Anyway, you don't have to brainwash me... I'm going to read it anyway, eventually. :D

In case you were wondering, Fishy, I am actually reading "A Hitchhiker's Guide..." right now.... thanks to you. ;)
But that really has nothing to do with this topic, sorry.
C'mon, who else has a favorite character they haven't talked about yet?
I haven't yet mentioned how much I like Aravis from HHB... I just happen to admire girls who run away from home dressed up as boys... Not to mention, she has such a superior air when dealing with Shasta... it's hilarious.
Oops, I just realized these are supposed to be fave characters from the old movies, not the books.... oh, well

why are yall making a fuss over repacheip???hes annoying!![im glad i got that off my chest] i think my favorate charecters in the movies were the white whitch 1. because she was hott!!!!!!! and 2. because she could act realy well. they sure did have crumby special effects and costumes in those movies though.lol. i hope they do better this time...i wander if im still going to like the books better then the movies when the new one comes out

Narnia: Favorite Character

I'm not sure if this have ever been discussed yet, so I thought I'd give it a go. I was wondering who y'all chose as your favorite characters in the books.

For me, my all time favorite character is Edmund. I just connect with him so much. Edmund is me in so many ways. A lost soul, a slave to my own passions and desires. However, the part I love best is Edmunds transformation. Its so remanicent of my own salvation.

A close second to Edmund is Reepicheep... I mean who could not love that little guy! He's a hoot! And he is passionate beyond belief, and I love people with a passion for life.

I also LOVE Jewel the unicorn, a true friend he is to Tirian and a brave soul. Also one of my favorite lines in the books is uttered by Jewel:
I’ve come home at last
This is my real country, I belong here.
This is the land I’ve been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now
The reason why we loved the old Narnia is that it sometimes looked a little like this.

... thats what I think it will be like when I get to heaven.

So... who's your favorite?

I always like the books better than the movies in every case (except for a few, like Princess Diaries). Books are better. Period. :D B)

I have lots of favourites. Yes, this topic has been discussed in a different forum, but that - I think - was about favorite characters in the movies. I'm not sure.

My favorite character is Edmund, same as you. I can relate to him so well.

I also like Puddleglum and Reepicheep. They're both very funny.

I like Eustace as well because he's another character you can easily relate to, espescially when you're in this bad mood. ;)

I like Fledge/Strawberry too, and quite a few others I can't think of right now. :D

(except for a few, like Princess Diaries).
You thought the movie was better? Why was that? I've always liked the books better than the movie. The movie was just too saccharine-sweet for my tastes.

I like Emeth the Calormen from the end of LB, or Coriakin from VDT. I named my cat after him. Of course, for favorite main character, I'd have to say Puddleglum.

my alltime favorate is Eustace...i relate to him very much in the voyage of the dawntreader. when he sees hes a dragon and trys to scracth away his skin himself but cant but when he lets aslan do it ...it hurts but it comes off and hes a boy again.to me thats like sin. the skin is i mean. we have sin and we try to get rid of it and cover it up ourselves but when we let God do it it dissapears. like God has to break us maybee to get us to realize him.only God can do it.i had something else in my head that went with this but i cant remember.[i didnt sleep well last night]
moving on
i also like edmond. hes another one i can relate to. i love them all though [except repacheip...hes annoying]i cant name them all  maybee ill rememebr what i was going to say up there about eustace if so ill post it ;) .

In every one of the books she has a new boyfriend. Plus she's so stupid. Plus I don't think the author had a very good style. Plus her father wasn't actually dead, he just had an operation. And there's no character development. And Her grandmother's like this batty old witch-lady. And ... you get the picture. ;) Just my opinion of course. You are quite entitled to have another quite opposite one. :D

Aslan. Big time. Aslan was always my favourite character in the TV series - then Peter, cos he a cool sword...lol (trust me!! Hey, I'm a fencer, what'd you expect....lol)

You fence? Oh cool! :D Yeah, I always love Aslan, but I also felt he was a little beyond my likes and dislikes. ;)

Hmm, this is hard. ;) Aslan, Professor Ketterly(Diggory), Doctor Cornelius, Edmund, Puddleglum, Glimfeather, Trumpkin, Shasta, Jewel, Bree, and the list goes on and on. :D

And, Rabidash and Uncle Andrew are my favorite "bad guys", 'cause they ammuse me a lot. Just thinking about some of their quotes make me chuckle. ;)

Fencers are cool. I took fencing at school and then at camp... or rather, I got to be poked a lot by the really good fencers. But it was still fun. :)
