Roaring back!
As Copperfox mentioned, I am indeed back. How active I will be here is anyone's guess at this time. The last year has been the hardest year of my life, and it has been hard to deal with the nearly continuous negative change. I am hoping against hope that things will improve a bit now. But none of us can tell what is around the next corner... I just wish i could truthfully say and mean, 'I'll take the adventure that Aslan sends my way'. For most real life adventures are not filled with derring-do and chivalrly. (And if you read the Chronicles carefully, you will see this was true of the children's experiences, too.
For those of you patiently waiting for more on 'The Lion's Share', you are going to have to have more patience. I'm sorry, I hate patience tests, too. I had every intention of having it back on line by now, but the Lord apparently did not want me to bring it back when I had nearly a week to get going on it back in late March/early April. I was spending a week in Pahrump, Nevada taking care of someone's 'kitties' for a week while they took a badly needed trip. I had everything I needed to restart work on 'The Lion's Share' when i discovered I did not have the story itself. To this day, I have not figured out why this happened. But I cried for a very long time when I discovered I would not be able to take advantage of that important opportunity to put life back into that story. But if all goes well, I will have another opportunity in late September to attempt a re-start. It will be the same conditions. Hopefully I will not be 'blessed' with missing a file, being sick with a bad cold (worst in years), and suffering from severe untreated sleep apneia, all at the same time. (I have since started therapy, and said therapy is eating significantly into my available time. But it is working.)
As you will read in the 'Other fantasy worlds' thread, I just spent a number of days with Coppefox in Colorado, attending the Colorado Renaissance Fair. We both had a fabulously wonderful time, the best time I have had since 2006! I hope there will be a few pictures when everything is sorted out (about the only thing that went wrong is my digital camera broke. I did have a 'backup film camera', and hopefully got a few good pictures with that.) In any case, I arrive home back here in Reno with the hope that this marks a turning point in what has been an extended dark, troubled time in my life. With that, I will leave you to read the extended accounts both Copperfox and myself have posted about the fair.
