The Horse and His Boy

Yup, they had masks made of the actual Hobbit actors' faces and the doubles wore them when filming to help them look more like the actors.

Regarding putting faces on actors, they did that in Jurassic Park. There was a point where Arianna Richards' character had to hang from the ceiling. The stuntman (or woman) looked up toward the camera on accident so they had to superimpose Arianna's face to the actor's face.

Maybe they should go back and do this with Georgie in the ice flow scene in LWW where Georgie's stuntman's face is shown.

Does anyone here watch Fringe? At the end of Season 2, there's a fight between Olivia from 'our' world and Olivia from another world. To make this happen, Anna Torv, the actress that plays Olivia had to fight against herself. It looked very weird at the end of the day.

No kidding! It is so painfully obvious it's not actually Georgie. Somebody made a big "oops" on that one.

I feel stupid. I never noticed that. Or if I did notice it, I don't remember it now. :p I need to watch that part of the movie again. Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice that.

Don't worry, I never noticed either. I'm always too busy looking at the beautiful blue water! I'll have to pay attention next time...

It happens real quick. It is at the end of the whiteater caused by the melting waterfall when Peter is Pulling on Lucy's coat, trying to keep her on the ice.

I went back and watched that scene yesterday, and now I can see that's it not Georgie. I don't know why I hadn't already noticed it one of the many times I've seen the movie. :p

LOL! OK, to get things back on topic...

This is something I have strong feelings about and if it happens, it would be the last nail in the coffin for me but I wonder if I am the only who would react that way.

How would you feel if, like what happened with the Last Airbender, they cast a White actress to play Aravis?

i really hope shes not white, i actually think the girl in prince of persia whould be good for aravis.. though shes a little old haha

my only question is do you think the will cast some one who is 6' 3'' to play shasta...

A white actor as Aravis... I think I'd sue.

Simply because someone is white, doesn't mean they're disqualified. There are white people in this world who don't actually look "white", but they aren't classified as any other race.

You can cast someone who is a dark white. They might be darker, but they're still white. With so many interracial marriages nowadays, that sort of thing happens more often than you'd think. I say that because I've known several "white" people who look entirely white, but the way they talk and carry themselves (and their parents) are black. This one guy I knew from history class looked white, but his mom or dad was black, and his race was black, even though his skin color wasn't. So you see, even if they cast what we would consider a "white" actress, it doesn't mean they wouldn't have darker skin.

"one guy I knew from history class looked white, but his mom or dad was black, and his race was black, even though his skin color wasn't."

i think that mother needs to tell that father somthing...

*ahem*

Anyway, what I mean is that if they cast some blatantly white person who doesn't look like a Calormene (according to Lewis' descriptions), I'd be mad.

So you've got a few options: a white Aravis who's supposed to be a Calormene, a non-white Aravis who matches the others, or a white Aravis to match white Calormenes. For some reason, making Aravis white seems more racist to me than Lewis's Calormenes are often considered. It'd be like they were afraid of demonstrating an interracial marriage.

What does that have to do with anything? I was only using it as an example, not intending for anything else to be made of it.

If they made the Calormenes white, wouldn't they have to make the Narnians' dark?

Ultimtely, they should cast Aravis as roughly the same ethnicity as the ethnicity they use for the rest of the Calormenes.

The question is whether they would go for British actors or actors from another country with a different accent. I would hope for the latter.

MrBob

But British actors can always put on a different accent, if need be. How many British actors/actresses go American for movies and they sound completely authentic?
