(ooc: Kim, maybe you should only write about yourself and let the others decide what they want to do. Like meeting Vivien, you should check with Ginny (and by check I mean ask, not tell her) if it's ok. Don't get Vivien involved in anything without the player's ok. thanks.

CF: and I wan to stop here now, mainly because I am tired and I can't think straight right now, but mostly because I don't want to get too far ahead for new players to find it hard to read all the previous posts. Can we continue tomorrow? We can leave it at the part where they are finally on their way to London to the tournament Kay is going to participate in)

IC:
Without further delays, the whole party set out on their journey right after Sir Ector had had Oliver blessed them and they all had said a prayer.

"I hope we didn't forget anything," Sir Ector said as they left the manor.

Arthur didn't know why but Sir Ector's last words made him feel uneasy. He was sure he had everything he needed.

I guess you could say life in Avalon was peaceful. No one of the outside world entered with out Morgause knowing so. And we rarely went out od Avalon. I could only name a few times.

The one time I remember going out of Avalon the most was when we went to the Lady of the Lake. Morguase had said she was connected to me. What that meant I had no idea. Connected by blood? to my future? I had no clue.

We rode up to her lake, the water crystal clear.

"Viviene," said Morguase as if calling her.

(ooc I figured that they'd have to meet. lol now in this version is Viviene going to be Morgan's aunt? Cuz isn't it so that Lancelot is her cousin?)
Vivien was interrupted in her singing. She felt two spirits, two persons walking near her.
"Lancelot!" She called him. Lancelot climbed down the tree where he had picked a few apples, and ran to Vivien.
"Mother?"
"I want you to go where Nuna's and ask her for her horn."
"Fine, mother. Is there any reason in particular?"
"I shall tell you later, Lot." She smiled, still nervous. "Take your time."
He walked away until there was no more sight of him.
A low turbulence in the waters made her turn around. A blue light shone from somewhere deep in the Lake and Vivien's mind pictured the treasure she had kept hidden there for a long, long time. She knew that the Treasure, the Sword, would always shine while hidden when the ones in its destiny were near.
Vivien stared at the deepness of the Lake. She felt evilish presences. And then, the Treasure's light vanished.
"Vivien." Morguase called her. Vivien turned around and saw Morguase and Morgan La Fay. Even though the brightness of the Sword was gone, she felt something beating on her head. It was about Morgan La Fay, the Sword on her hand. But there was Evil in the thought.
"Morguase" Vivien bowed her head, gently. "Morgan. A long time has passed for you to come again, hasn't it?"

"Yes," I said. Did she know me? How?

"Morgan." Morgause said to me, "This is your aunt Vivien. Mine and your mother's sister."

"Oh," I said, suddenly feeling a bit shy, "Hello."

Vivien tried to smile sincerely to the now shy girl.
"It is my very pleasure, Morgan La Fay." She turned her head to Morguase, feeling bitterness. She could not help to feel a little aversion for her sister, if she was supposed to be that. "Now tell me, I pray, Morguase, what is the reason that moved you to come here?"

Morgause cocked an eyebrow. I hated that, it made her look more smug han she was, "I want you to predict for her. I know she is a Gift from the Great Mother, but I want her to know it, to own it."

I looked at Vivien. I felt that she didn't like me. Was it my eyes again? But she seemed unateral too...what was I feeling then? Insecurity maybe...rarely did I ever get to see the outside world. I had been protected by Avalon, and out here everyone thought I was scary or something. In Avalon I was loved, outside I was hated.

"Love the hate Morgan, amd you'll see the gift that you really are." Morgause's words wrang in my head.

The words of Morguase struck Vivien's head. She had seen it clearly those last few moments. She stared at Morgan and her eyes. Divided in Power and Hate, one each color. She noticed that Morgan needed love, she could feel it. But soon, the counsels of Morguase would poison her mind.
"To predict?" Vivien laughed, charmingly. Better than her sisters, she could sound as if she were happiness, not faking, not pretending. "Then, Morguase, the Proud comes to Vivien, Lady of the Lake, to ask a favor?"
All was silent. Vivien stared at Morgan and walked around. At her back, she saw all those that Morgan would betray, like a knife in the back of all those that trusted her. In her head, she saw the cleverness of a snake, as smart and misterious. In her hands, she saw... the Sword. But it had been stolen, for it was covered in blood.
"I see..." Started Vivien, but she felt pity for Morgan. She looked scared. "I see a pure heart, filled with feelings that will take you to high places of power. I see a Weapon that shall lead you to Glory, even though its Glory won't be yours. I see the wisdom that shall make you famous. I see someone that shares your blood, that will trust and yet, untrust you. In your eyes, I see terrible confusion that will turn to your own good when you grow old."
Vivien could not continue. The vision hurt her head. She tried to made it clear that the predictions had ended, even though there was more.
"Are you satisfied now, Morguase?"

"Are you satisfied now, Morguase?"

I could see Morgause's nose twitch, it meant she wasn't satisfied. "I know there is more in you sister," she said, "even I saw that, tell her more. Tell her what was, is and will be."

"Please," I said feeling a little bit braver, "I've been having dreams,"

"Dont say anything!" Morgause snapped, but I continued.

"There is a boy, and a sword. And then there is a king and a beautiful woman who sits by his side. I saw myself there, as if I was looking through a window. I was beautiful, but something wasn't right. My eyes seemed paler. What does that mean? And then the dream changed and I held a child, a boy but not the same as the first. He had my eyes."

At this point Morgause was glaring at me, but also seemed intriuged by what Vivien would say.

"Dreams." Vivien had known it. "You've got the talents that our dearest mother had as well, Morgan." She glared fiercely at Morguase. "I would not poison a little girl's mind with perturbating things and visions, like you would, sister. I would decide to wait until she grows older and gets a better perspective of life." Vivien still had the hope that future might change. That Morgan would not be as evil after all.
"Morgan, the king and the queen you've seen" Vivien started. "are very much related to you. I can not say how, for it is prohibitten to reveal the story of somebody else, child. You are beautiful, but Beauty for you has another meaning, for it will be unnatural."
She sighed. The hurt was leaving, and all because she was letting that vision flow out of her mouth. The problem with Oracles was that they could never lie, or the vision in their heads would hurt them with a deadly pain.
"And the child in your arms is, or shall be, a son of yours, as beautiful and powerful."
Vivien raised her eyes to Morguase.
"There, Morguase." She stared at the lake. A few circles on the water moved. It was calm. "I will say no more."

Morgause crossed her arms, "Very well." She said.

"Thankyou aunt," I said, "may I ask something else?"

Morgause rolled her eyes, but didn't drag me away as she usually did.

Vivien smiled at Morgan honestly by the first time. Her smile was radiant and kind, as pure as the Lake's water.
"Of course, child. Speak your thought."

"Will I be happy?" I asked her, feeling as if I'd never see a happy ending, "Will I be happy about my life in the end?"

(ooc g2g, bbl ;)d)

Vivien sighed and place one hand in her head.
"You will be happy in your way, which might not be everybody's." She frowned staring at Morguase and then, smiled. "Indeed, you will."

Since Merlin is not yet cast, I leave him aside for now...

OOC: In the following, I have resorted to making up a name for the father depicted because I haven't seen him named in the stories....

One knight who was NOT coming to the crown tournament was a landholder on the east coast of the Scottish border, Sir Brent the Vigilant. And vigilant he had always needed to be, with Saxons coveting his land.

Brent and his men--his surviving men--had just come from winning a hard-fought battle against a Saxon raiding party, three ships' worth of barbarians. None of those Saxons would return home to the continent, but some dozen Britons had gone home to Heaven from this engagement. The veteran knight fervently hoped that the events in London would produce a united country--which would give him some HELP holding back the barbarians.

This hope was all the more anxious now that Brent's eldest son was of an age to bear arms in war, and had done so in the latest battle. Balin, son of Brent, though not formally even a squire yet, had sent two Saxons to the Devil with his spear. And the second son, Balan (mostly distinguished from Balin, when speaking, by stressing the second syllable), promised also to be a warrior soon. Too soon.

WHEN was help going to start coming from a King Of All Britons?

Uh-uh--- Here's where Kim put that thing of the Great Mother. I hadn't seen it before. Sorry.

ooc: that's ok Ginny, I left a message for Kim, there is no Mother Goddess anywhere in the Arthur legend.

OOC: There could be pagan characters who _claim_ that an Earth-Mother goddess exists, as long as the narrative made sure the readers know those characters to be _wrong_ on the subject. Be watching for what I will do with Merlin to deal with such things: a somewhat similar approach to that of Mr. Lewis in "Hideous Strength."

In fairness to Kim, _she_ may have intended her character's belief in a Goddess to be mistaken. I saw her post something this week about wishing to tell Wiccans about the Biblical God.

Master Twyti finished his tour of inspection of the surroundings of Sir Ector's castle. Soon it would be time for supper. From past visits, he knew where the dining hall of the inner keep was located. On the way there, a serving wench brought to him the little girl who was his _extra_ reason for keeping the castle safe: Melona, his daughter, the only child of William Twyti's deceased wife Colleen.

The child ran to her Papa's arms, and those arms scooped her up to be hugged and kissed. "Hail and well met, little forest maiden! Let's go to supper!" And he carried her to Sir Ector's table, where Father Oliver was given the head seat in the absence of Ector and his son Kay.
