The Lucy's of Narnia: BBC and Walden

Georgie is the quintessential Lucy. I just wish she had the BBC scripts to work with. She's an incredible actress and a very sweet and smart young lady!

Georgie. For all the reasons other people in this thread have said. Sophie was not convincing, and I thought(this is what I thought when I was younger) she wasn't skinny enough.

Bit harsh to say Sophie couldn't represent Lucy cos of her weight!! Though I would agree that Georgie captures Lucy's character better.

I don't think it's fair to say Sophie wasn't a good Lucy because she was fat. I just think her acting sucked. In my opinion, Georgie better represented Lucy. She put more emotion and feeling into her acting and made everyone believe that she was Lucy. I guess people thought Sophie was cute because she was pudgy. *shrugs*

Georgie is better in every way. Better actress, younger, cuter, prettier, more likable, more spiritual (at leas the way she acted), and more like the character.

Sophie was way too old, she acted the part wrong, and...i'm not trying to be mean...but just didnt look good. I'm sorry but Lucy isnt suppossed to look so fat and old. And what was with her haircut?

I also like the way Georgie says "Aslan!" compared to how Sophie says "Aslan!'

Watching the BBC series in recent years, I have to admit my sister and I even laughed about Lucy. It's cruel - but she was rather lispy and not quite fitting with the others. Having said that, I think she did a sure passable job for the series!

Georgie fits better, but I don't think even she is perfect for the role.

The Lucy from the BBC series has always annoyed me. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that she wasn't how I pictured Lucy. Actually, of all the actors who played the Pevensies, I thought that the actress who played Susan (whose first name is also Sophie) was the best cast. One thing that annoyed me about the BBC casting of the Pevensies was the fact that the actors playing Peter and Susan are the same age and the ones playing Edmond and Lucy are also the same age (and a year younger than Peter and Susan).

Georgie, on the other hand, was the appropriate age, she acted very well (much better than Sophie), and the ages between her and her other screen siblings was spaced out better.

Also, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but if anybody hasn't seen the BBC version and wants to, HeathenMaiden has uploaded all of the BBC Chronicles of Narnia on her YouTube account.

All I can say about the BBC Lucy is that she wasn't a very good actress, but then again, that was the style back then (I hope) because they all acted like that (as if they were reading). Other than than, I don't mind her looks or personality and I even if I did, I am not going to be mean about it.

What still bothers me about the new Lucy (Georgie) is that they didn't pick a blonde girl, as Lucy is described in the books.

Then again neither actress whose played Lucy was blonde. I had originally hoped Dakota Fanning would have played Lucy, as she was blonde and a very good actress...but well, the minute I saw the first picture of Georgie and she just had this big, infectious smile on her face, followed by her spot on performance , she won me over, just as the character did in the book. I'm sad to say the BBC Lucy never could do that.

I think that the BBC producers went for neutral characters, someone we wouldn't get attached to it so that we could focus on the story instead. Not bad I would say.

If they'd chosen Dakota Fanning... I would have been verrrry put off. She has always irritated me. Plus she's not English and it's nice to keep the actors actually English.
