The next 3 Narnia films will be made back to back!

I have to agree that they are doing this smart. It makes a lot of sense because PC, VDT and SC have a continuous thread, much like LOTR. The Pevensies, themselves introduce Eustace who introduces us to Jill. Likewise, Prince Caspian, himself, is in all three following his Princehood, reign and the fate of his son. In addition the Narnian timeline flows very consistently and smoothly through these three.

Then they can do HHB, MN and LB separately, because they are each unique distinct stories, though still with some commonality. However, the timeline and characters are not smooth transitions. Not that this is bad, just makes them separate.

So they are NOT going to make seperate movies, then, Echo, they will combine PC, VOTDT and SC....into ONE MOVIE???????????? Am I understanding this right???????????????????

Shooting back to back just means that, when the Script writers have finnished writing, they would hand the script over to the cast, and start writing for then next film.

Then, when the first film has been filmed, the cast would pass on the film to the editors and SFX people, and take the next script from the writers and start straight away on that.

They are not filming all three at the same time, just one after the other.

They are doing it so that Georgie and Skandar don't grow too old.

They are doing the same thing for Pirates of the Caribbean.

This is very intelligent filmmaking. The production values will be consistent and the same characters and actors can be used in all the projects.

That's because it's being done by Adamson :D

Yea, they all aren't going to be in one movie, just filming them back to back to keep up with the aging for Georgie and Skandar, and then the kid who will play Eustace.

Because if you think about it, unless they can pull off a miracle with makeup and wardrobe (seen it before; its possible) there's going to be a TOTAL obvious aging difference in all of the 4 Pevensie actors between LWW and PC. If they haven't even started filming yet, just think. It's only supposed to be a year after LWW.

And an added bonus--at least the next three movies should be coming out about a year after one another, and not waiting 2 years between them, right? :D

It does depend on how long Walden Media decide to wait.
They are going to want to make as much money, and win as many oscars as possible, and so they are likely to wait until the "opportune moment" until they release each of them, even if it means keeping them "under their belts" for a while.

Also, Georgie at least has already grown a lot since the end of LWW.

They haven't started filming yet, and they aren't going to until at least January.

well, it means they'll all be made next year and they can't do that b/c then my parents definatly won't let me go audition for jill b/c i'd only b 13 and i'd i'd just omg no it can't b true
maybe you can send in an audition tape.

If that means that all the stories are in one movie... SUCKISH!!!

And I thought that Prince Caspain was coming out in Summer 2008 not Christmas?! GRRR WE HAVE TO WAIT LONGER

By filming back to back we all got confused here LOL. I thought it meant there was going to be ONE movie PRINCE CASPIAN with two other movies intergrated into it VOTDT and SC. But it just means then that Adamson is fiilming Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and Silver Chair back to back...and releasing them at the proper times...Prince Caspian in 2008, maybe VOTDT in 2009 and PC in 2010. Or does that make sense?

Makes perfect sense. To be honest, I thought of that straight away when I read the article. They'll shoot the movies one after another without a real break of months inbetween. :) I guess it'll be something like Lord of the Rings, which was also shot back-to-back... every year a new movie and stuff.
