Well, I have a theory about the Atarriors (it's what I call Natla's creations, it's an acryonym of Atlantean Warriors).
The Pyramid was created to be a "factory" for creating Genetically Engineered LifeForms.
You'd put in some DNA, specific how and what you'd like in a desired organism and the Pyramid ran hundreds off them in a production line (by growing them inside the eggs you saw).
To defend their continent, the original Atlantean Triumvirate created an army lizardlike Warriors (from all appearances, they had human personalities, although the hint is quite subtle, it appears they actually have a personal distaste for Natla, hinting they are actually sentient beings and not just organic machines).
But Natla wanted the power for herself, so stole the Scion and created her own version of the Warriors. But, given that her creations were mindless psychopaths and the Warriors were actually intelligent thinking fighters, the Atarriors were slaughtered by the Warriors.
And we all know what happens next........
