Well, depends on what you want to say actually, if you want to say 'we, who are going to die, greet you' it is salutamus, but if you want to say 'they, who are going to die, greet you' it is salutant.

If you would say, in English:
I dream
you dream
he dreams
we dream
you dream
they dream

You would say in Latin (only with 'Salutare' (=to greet)):
'I' saluto (first person, singularis)
'you' salutas (second person, singularis)
'he' salutat (third person, singularis)
'we' salutamus (first person, pluralis)
'you' salutatis (second person, pluralis)
'they' salutant (third person, pluralis)

If i remember correct.

And i don't know about English, but if we use that phrase in Dutch, we always translate it with 'they', but maybe in English it is more common to talk about is as 'we'?

Great :D (Didn't you like Latin? I didn't that much either, but i had quite a bad teacher, i loved greek though... except for all those words :rolleyes: )

And btw, i have no idea what you meant by the second part of your sentence (from 'the thing is' untill 'your own words') so if you could rephrase that i would be very happy :o

Your English confuses me more than your Latin... maybe i should study some more English...

I think 'Liekje' was one of those 'typos' Olórin has been making (K and J are next to eachother).

He thought you were saying exactly what they (the words in the dictionary) were saying. Quoting. Rather than giving their message in your own words. (Did that make sense?)

Well, it does. But i just explained (which he obviously didn't get) that, in Dutch, we use 'they' instead of 'we' in this sentence. So if i would die (which i don't really hope) now, i would still say 'they'... I could say 'we' too, but 'they' is just as common.

EDIT2: no, het got that word from Lilith... (referring to the, what i will call, abuse of my name)
