Thoughts on the teaser poster

Well, the first teaser poster is on-line! Yeah! So what do you all think of it.

Yes it's simple. The best teaser posters tend to be. ( look at the teasers for LOTR.) The tag-lines are perfect. The Aslan image is powerful, and I love the siloute of the ship in his eye.

Any other thoughts?

i definitely like it - i think it means we're "returning to narnia" after the kind of debacle of pc film you know? and i love aslan and the ship's reflection in his eye. awesome.

its awsomatic. it looks so Narnia-ish and just, really good. if they vamp it up a bit that'd be ok- they could do something to it without messing it up.:) I really like the Dawn Treader being reflected in Aslan's eye, that is just really awsomeatic.:D

oh and now I'm going to try to get my parents to go to Erie so we can look and see if theres a Narnia poster at the movie theater there.:D:rolleyes:

And now to be the downer here. I want to see the Daen Treader prominent with the images of the main crew with Aslan either atop the picture or underneath. This is way too close up on Aslan and way too little of the Dawn Treader and nothing of the characters save for Reep who is standing on the words for no reason whatsoever.

No, I think this is OK. PC film had hardly any Aslan in it, at all. This huge focus on Aslan with the "return" theme is just perfect for fans who were bereft after PC trivialized Aslan. There will be lots of posters that can feature the cast and crew (as it were) -- having the first one totally focus on Aslan is a great step toward repairing the breach with book fans.

For a teaser poster it's cool. I just hope that the actual promotional posters are more like what Mr Bob described.

I am a book fan and the relative absence of Aslan was the least of my issues with PC. I'm just saying this was too Aslanny (I know, no such word). A much better teaser would have focused more on the Dawn Treader since she will be the main focus of the movie.

I feel that for a first poster there still was quite a bit of focus placed on the Dawn Treader, but it was done by placing it in perspective to other aspects of the story, such as who is in charge of All. :D

I like this one because it is a true teaser poster. The Caspian one was too similar to the release poster in my opinion.

See for yourself:

Teaser poster

release poster

Note that both feature Caspian in the front, and Aslan in the back. Seems highly prophetic of the actual movie, don't you think? Speaking of movie posters that seemingly tell all, look at this promo poster and tell me what you think about Peter's expression matching his 'high and mighty king' attitude that he had in PC.

Stuck-up Peter Poster?

i could not access the link to the stuck-up peter poster. but i agree, the teaser poster and release posters were quite similar with the focus on ben. i am anxious now to see the release poster for vdt in contrast to the teaser poster, which i think hits just the right note, as orieus says. the dt is there but only as the reflection in aslan's eye ... i love that.

That's actually something I like is the fact that the Danw Treader is only in his eye ( perhaps to indicate how He is watching voer the crew of the DT?)

Plus, if you think about it this is one of the aspects of Narnia we've been waiting for the most. I liken it to all the teaser commercials and posters for the new Star Trek film. We got very little in terms of the Enterprise in those ( except for a blurry image of the ship on posters and then just a glimps of her hull in the trailer) only to get our first real taste of the ship, in all it's glory as Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy see it in Spacedock. It's funny, but I kind of want that same excitment for the Dawn Treader that I got in seeing the Enterprise again ( or is it the first time? It was a reboot afterall) in the new Star Trek, or even the RMS Titanic in the 1997 film.
