Toy Story 3

Let's make a separate Thread for TS3. I saw it tonight. Good to see the old gang. Kind of scary, not really for preschool. Don't want to be a spoiler, but it was not too hard to see who would save the day.:)

Toy Story 3 was fantastic, it was wonderful to see the old gang, to embark one more adventure. But I concure, this film is not for preschoolers, it is much more mature in content; humor, vocabulary, and intensity. Yet it is these qaulities that make it the best Toy Story to date. :)

Agreed. It was the first movie I've seen in a long time that I didn't want to end. It was that good a movie.:)

I really want to see it, I really enjoyed both the first and the second. :) And it looks like this one is going to be good too, since I've heard nothing but good reviews on it so far. :)

To equate hoew great a film Toy Story 3 is, Rotten Tomatoes.com (the new Ebert and Roper) gave it an approval rating of 99%! I've never witnessed a film have such a high approval rating! But if you don't care what the criticts thinlk, be rest assured that Toy Story 3 is without a doubt Pixar's best film. You'll find yourself overwhelmed with a rostrum of emotions; ranging from laughter to sorrow, from nastalgia to melancholy. :)

I haven't seen Toy Story 3 yet. We rarely watched movies when I was little, so when we rented Toy Story last winter, it was the first time I had seen it. My two younger siblings (Preschool and elementary age) were traumatized, and my Mom hated the name calling. I, however, liked the movie, so I watched Toy Story 2 on youtube.
From the reviews I've read of Toy Story 3, I know my mom and younger siblings would hate it, but I'd like to see it. I loved Pixar's Up from it's emotional aspect, so I'm sure that I would like Toy Story 3.

Trust me, Toy Story 3 one ups Up. XD

Although I'm biased and I have yet to see UP. :D

2D. My dad has been sick for the past week or more, and he's motion sick. Not to mention, I'm starting to develop his motion sickness, my eyes are pretty sensitive, and my mom doesn't want to see it in 3D.

I don't blame thee, my eyes are rather sensitive and stain fairly easily when it comes to fast moving imagery. Frankly the 2D experiance is how it is meant to be viewed, afterall thats the format the two predesssecors where release in. :)

I would be terrified if I saw Toy Story in 3D. At an amusement park a few years ago, I saw a really short film in 4D. The images were coming at my face, and I kept jumping 'out of the way'. Even though the film itself was more funny than scary, I ended up taking off the 3D glasses because it freaked me out so much. Granted, that was several years ago, but I doubt I could watch Toy Story- much less VDT- in 3D. Since I'd probably end up taking my glasses off, it wouldn't be worth the extra money.

I had a similar experiance in a IMAX Theater. I was watching a film featuring dinosaurs and in one scene the main character was climbing a cliff, the dust fell with rubble and my eyes went into a blinking frenzy. My mind was having difficulty differinciating between fantasy and reality, something that concerns me about this push towards 3D. Psychologically, our minds stuggle precieving projecting images from video games and even movies as fantasy. This creates an abudance of stress on the body, for each challenge or peril featured in a game or film because your challlenge and peril pyschologically.

Hence why kids often throw temper tantrums when they lose at playing a video game or become afraid watching a certain movie. Teens and adults arn't exempt, we just attempt to overide the process and assure ourselves it is make believe.

Back to Toy Story 3, I once when I was little became terrifed after seeing the original Toy Story. I thought my toys would come alive and punish me like Sid. XD

Yeah. It's a good thing I didn't see it when I was little, or I would have thought my toys were real. (If I had seen that part in Toy Story 2 where Woody rescues Wheezy, I would have refused from then on to get rid of any of my toys.)

I was for once glad for the 3-D.... I was crying and the big glasses hid that. I should get some for the times I read Narnia and LOTR! I'm 25 and those things turn on the water works like nobody's buisness.
