Toy Story 3

TS3 deserves the great reviews it has been getting. Though it got a G rating, like I said before it would be ruff on pre-schoolers. A lot of Pixar movies would not be for pre-schoolers. Cars was mellow enough, and so was Bugs Life, but The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., and Wall-e were kind of intense.

I didn't think Wall-E was that intense. In fact, it deserved a G. Toy Story 3 deserved a PG. I saw it today with my mom and though I liked it, I really felt that it was a lot darker and heavier than its predecessors.

The Spanish Buzz was the best part though. And I can honestly say that this is the only TS that made me cry.

Everyone I know (including myself) has cried watching Toy Story 3. It really doew pull on your emotional strings. :)

A Few Spoilers...

I agree with all of you, it was an excellent movie. Though there were a few things that sort of bugged me, one being how quickly everything happened. I felt sort of like there was a lot of information and story that they were trying to wrap up in not enough time. Just a little.

I don't want to spoil for anyone, so if you haven't seen it yet, just skip the rest of my post...

I have to be honest, I didn't much like the ending when Andy gave all of them to that little girl. I mean, yes it was very sweet and emotional, especially since he gave her Woody as well, but part of me didn't want that. I think it would've been much better if he had kept them all, and then at the very end of the movie they had a sort of "20 years later" type scene where it showed Andy giving them to his own kid to play with. That just would've set better with me. And maybe that's because all throughout the other movies, and even most of this one too, they were all stressing about how important it was that they were Andy's toys and needed to be there for him no matter what, and then he goes and gives them away. I dunno... that was just the bit that really didn't agree with me...

Oh, I agree. I didn't like the ending, but I did like how all the toys were determined to go down together in the smelting thing. That part made me start to cry, but when Andy gave them all away to the little girl, I was bawling.

I'm taking my kids tonight to see Toy Story 3. Will give a review tomorrow. We watched the first and second movies this past weekend to get us in the spirit.

I saw this movie the other day and it was really good! Its my favorite of the films now.:D
at the part where they went down into the melting thingy I leaned over and whispered to my mom, "Its the firey furnace!" and then I thought to myself, "No, its Mt. Doom!" lol
I didn't cry at the end (I rarely do in movies, the only one that I've come very close to crying in is the end of Return of the King) but I had mixed emotions about it, like some other people here. I'd like to watch it again before its on DVD and if I'm lucky my cousins will go see it and take me with them.:D

I was disappointed my dad wasn't with us to see the trailer on the big screen, but he was sick and didn't feel like sitting through a 2 hour film. I won't see this movie again until it starts airing on abcfamily or the Disney Channel; not really worth seeing it twice in theaters

Well, last night we went as a family to Toy Story 3 and really enjoyed it. I can't say I was completely blown away, it was good... it was great actually, but didn't make my top 10 movies of all time list. There definitely were some very tender scenes and I felt a higher emotional connection with the characters than I have ever felt before... especially with Jessie and Rex the Dinosaur for some reason, perhaps because they have the most emotional characters to start with and both were shown to control their emotions at a time of intense fear instead of becoming hysterical. There is something of a deux ex machina in the movie I wasn't too sure about however, and I didn't agree that Ken the Barbie doll stole the show (that was written by a local movie critic). Great show however, I highly recommend it.

Also I finally got to see the Voyage of the Dawn Treader trailer last night before Toy Story 3 started and it really got me excited to see that movie this coming Christmas.

I saw the movie twice, once in 3D and the other in 2D. I didn't get to see the VDT trailer either time, even though they were both in different theatres, but anyway...
I have been watching the Toy Story movies since I was a little kid. I enjoyed them so much back then, and I still love them now. I have to argue that the third movie is the best. And I admit, I *almost* cried, especially at the end - and I never cry during movies. But at the same time, is was very funny. It's definitely a movie anyone can enjoy - kids, teens, and adults.

Edit - the Spanish Buzz was the best part, I agree...the bit at the end, with the "You've got a friend in me" song in Spanish was awesome.

Our family just went to see this a couple days ago (see above post by SeaStar...:D)

I really enjoyed it. I was 3 when the first one came out, and it was the first movie I ever saw in a theater...plus I was obsessed with it forever after that and had arguments with my sister about whether Woody or Buzz was better. (I was on Woody side). I also loved TS2 when it came out, and my favorite character from that was Jessie.

I'm going off to college soon, and so the movie had more...emotional meaning :) to me than the other ones did. I didn't cry, although I almost did at the end and at the furnace part. The only other movie I almost cried during was The Return of the King (when Frodo says the part about saving the Shire, but not for him, etc.).:D
