Trumpkin in VDT

Completely agreeing with just about everyone - I'm happy for them to start in Narnia, or show them casting off, etc, but am really, really hoping they'll stick closer to the book for VDT.
 
Putting Trumpkin on the voyage would also mess up Silver Chair. It would mess up the first sign for Jill and Eustace. If Trumpkin were on the Dawn Treader he would be an old friend of Eustace's. Thus, when Eustace showed up in Silver Chair he would think Trumpkin was his old friend and it would mess up everything. To make things work with that they'd have to mess things up for Silver Chair and Trumpkin's role in that one too....not good! Let's just keep people where they're supposed to be please! Thanks!
 
There are only two or three acceptable ways for Trumpkin to appear in VotDT

The first, and most likely, is that they will show the departure or return to Narnia of the Dawn Treader. Trumpkin need not be on the boat, just saying good-bye from the pier or King Caspian and his new wife when they come home.

The second would be to show the time when Aslan visits visits Trumpkin after the Magic book scene. By far, this method would closest to the book.

I mentioned an "or three" at the beginning because there is a way to show him in the movie without putting him on the Dawn Treader or deaing with time that is only glossed over in the book. It is problematic from the start and would make the movie too jumpy. The third way would be to go back and forth between the Dawn Treader and Trumpkin at Cair Paravel.
 
I think Trumpkin will be in Voyage of the Dawn Treader and he has also said in an interviwe that he is indeed in the movie.
But I think his role will not be big. it will be same as it is in the book.
He will take care of narnia while caspian is away.

Good thinking Batman!! Write in a letter to explain this so they don't make a stupid mistake! I wouldn't put it past them...

Absolutely. Though it would be fun for the actor to play more than one role...like the lead Duffer or something. :D

Thanks Jonny! You write the letter, we'll all sign it, and then send it on in. I'm not sure they'll care, but at least we can say we tried. Then they'll have no one to blame but themselves for it all. I'd hope they'd listen, but they didn't when 98% of the fan base begged that the Susan Caspian romance be taken out of Prince Caspian 4 to 6 months before the films release so I'm not sure how far it will get. Try anyway...it's the best we can do.
