I can't believe there isn't a thread for this already..so I decided to start one.:D

Who else loves the movie?Or has read the book?:D
 
oh....:oWell,I think the movie is different than the book,or so I've heard.........

I think Winnie should have drunk from the spring,so it suprised me that she didn't....
 
I loved the book but after seeing who was starring in the movie, chose not to watch it. Winnie is about 10 years old in the book, but in the movie, she is 15-16. That completely alters her relationship with Jesse, which in the book, is more of a puppy-love crush while Jesse imagining her as a potential wife in the future.

I want to get the 1981 indie movie version.

I read this book in college as a part of a Elementary Education course. Three of us from that class also had Psychology immediately afterwards. One day after discussing part of the book in class, we were talking about how we thought our Psychology professor looked like how the Man in the Yellow Suit was described. And guess what our professor wore to class that day? A yellow suit. The three of us could not contain our laughter.

I should read the book....I don't think I'd like it as much though,because I like Winnie the age she is in the film...
 
I've both read the book and seen the movie, and the book is much better. Movies tend to remove most of the subtlety from books. The descriptions are a huge part of what makes Tuck Everlasting beautiful. But then I feel that way about lots of books-turned-movies. And I'm not even going to go into Winnie's age... sigh. But it is a lovely story, and there have been adaptations that have done worse violence to their books.

What other book can get away with putting the villain in a cheery yellow suit? It's just fantastic. And the whole thing with the toad... that was so cool.
 
We read the book in Literature class when I was in the 6th grade, and for a field trip, we went to see the movie. I don't remember much about the book, except that I liked it and it was really unique, unlike anything I had read. I watched the movie again not too long ago, and I still like it.

I actually own the book and the movie, so I should read and watch it again to compare them. :)
 
I haven't seen the movie yet, but really want to!

I read the book in grade 5, and absolutely loved it! It is one of my favourite books of all time.
