Mara stared at him for a minute, what was she doing? Being friends with him was one thing, but more than friends? Could she do that? She kept looking at him as she slowly slid her hand up his arm.
She left a trail of goose bumps on his skin where her hand had been. One hand dropped under the water to her waist the other was still planted firmly on her arm.
Mara looked away, she got her emotions under controle then slowly looked back at him. She could feel his hand at her waist. Her eyes driffted till they finially met his gaze.
Mara swallowed, she moved her hand the reast of the way up his arm and stopped at the back of his neck. "Still need another one?" she whispered as she stood on her tippy toes, her face only inches from his.
"But Mara I..." wanted to say what he alwasy did to protect her but this time it didn't apply somehting else did though, "I am a vegitarian but teh craving is still there."
he reached up from her arm and touched the side of her neck, "That's the problem...I'm probably the only person who actually can," he pulled away and sloshed back on to the shore and flopped down, "I don't want to do that."
Mara watched him, she wanted to tell him he wouldn't hurt her, but she couldn't. He was so careful, she should be more careful. Mara walked out of the water and sat down on the sand by Rez.
"three hundred years I have been alone...never really had any friends and the one time I may get just that...I can't take any risk." he looked over at her and took her hadn, "I won't myself take any risks."
Mara looked at his hand holding her's. "I understand," what else could she say? She could argue with him, tell him that she wasn't a risk, but what would the point be?
"Its ok," Mara mumbled, she looked away out over the water. She should have known better, none of this would have happened if she had just been more careful.
