Twilight with a Twist (the millionth try)

Mara glanced at him again. He had looked at her again. She wanted to ask him why he kept looking at her, but she was to shy and she had no idea who he was. She pulled two gloves out of her bag and put them on. Now at least her scar was covered. Mara couldn't help but wonder if the scar would ever go away. It looked like a small heart, her skin was colder there. And she knew why, that was where she had been bitten. She shivered at the memory and tried to ignor the guy staring at her and consintrate on her book.
 
Rez’s eyes hit the floor as soon as she looked up at him. What was it about her? It wasn’t her smell and that was usually what attracted him like this. She was different but he could explain why. He grabbed his school bag with one of his abnormally large hands and flung it over his shoulder. It seemed minuscule next to his body even jammed full of books.
 
Mara closed her book. She could take this any longer, she ahd to get out of here. She glanced at her watch, ten minutes till class. She stood up, "I'll be right back," she said to the girl that had talked to her eariler. She weved though the other students and got to the hall and stopped, she leaned against the wall.
 
Rez debated with himself then suddenly, "Hey I got to go. see you around," he smiled at Eliza and started walking towards the exit. as he turned the corner he nearly ran full on into the girl who had been sitting behind him nearly knocking her down. by instinct he grabbed her arm to help steady her.
 
Mara stumbled, she felt someone grabber her arm. She looked up, it was the same guy that had been staring at her. She suddenly pulled her arm away from him. She started at him for a minute, there was something about him...
 
"I'm really sorry," he spat out seeing her reaction, "I need to be more careful where I go. growth spurts," he smiled, "got to love them." he was rambling., a nervouse habbit he really needed to break
 
Mara nodded absently. There was something different about him. He didn't smell, at all, and he should. "um, yeah." She bent down and picked up some papers that had been in her pocket.
 
he quickly went to help her so he didn't look like an overgrown fool just standing there. he reached out to pick up a paper and brushed her hand. he winced. there was no way to avoid the fact that his skin was burning hot, "so uh....you like it here in Forks?"
 
Mara's eyes widened when he brushed her hand. She knew he wasn't a werewolf, he didn't smell any thing like one, but his skin was so hot. She nodded, "yeah, it nice." She looked up at him, "have you lived here a while?"
 
"no, not really," he said retracing his thought to what he had told the other girl, "My parents thought it would be a good idea for me to leave the city for a while and plus I was sort of sick of it so I came here to live with a family down in La Push," he hoped that sounded convincing.
 
Mara smiled softly. "Is La Push nice?" She'd heard of it, but never been there. With it being all werewolfs she didn't think she'd he very welcome there. Not that she was very welcome anywhere.
 
he smiled, "Yah, it's nice. I spend a lot of my time down at First Beach," he said trying not to sigh in relief. she had bought the story and that was a huge wight off of his shoulders, "you don't go there very often?" he asked standing up now.
 
Mara stood up, putting her papers back in her pocket. "I've never been there." She wished she could go, but she couldn't wear a swimsuit and hide her scar. She glanced up at him, he was so much taller than her.
 
"well you should come sometime." he invited, "it's great fun and for the more adventurous there is a little sport we like to call cliff diving. now that is fun."the edge in his voice was completely gone and he didn’t have to work on sounding convincing, it came naturally now.
 
Her eyes widdened, "cliff diving. Wow, that would be fun." She smiled, "maybe I'll come up some time." She didn't know how every one in La Push would react if someone who was half vampire walked onto there land.
 
Evelyne watched them both talking "who would have thought it?" she mumbled to herself "the two most instinct and probably unique people, mix of both races, in the same school" she laughed slightly at how bizarre the day had been so far. She closed her locker and headed for her next lesson art. She loved painting and hoped that when she left school she could do it professionally.

"Sure," he said shifting his weight, "some tome soon." he smiled again, "well I really have to goet to my next class,"
