or HB, who is not here anymore (in the olden days, a comment like this one would have been enough to summon him, but i s'pose these days are rather new, so... i guess ölörìn is lucky.)
 
Just an idea . . . you might want to try a live CD of Jaunty (version 9.04), if you have the time, downloading-wise and so on. New versions often fix things! Also, did you use Md5sum to check the Md5 hash of your download? I forget if you mentioned that, but if there was an error in the download that might cause problems.

Sadly, I have to step in and remind folk of our forum guidelines regarding username changes (see FAQ #18). This does not mean changes aren't granted, just that we don't do it casually. If you'd like to PM either myself or Eveningstar with your rationale for requesting a name change, we'll consider it, but no guarantee we'll grant it.
 
I was Aslan Rocks! But then I decided that LocoRoco was a better sum up of my character. But I am thinking about asking to change my name to Auraya Kairi Black.
