VotDT scenes

Here is a thread where you can write your own scenes for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie. The scenes don't have to follow the book closely, or they could be completly made up. Just write a script for a scene that you think could or should be in the movie.

I agree that the conversation that ED has with Eustace after he is un-dragoned should be verbatum or at least very close to it.

I agree. I cannot think of one right now. I know there are many I would like to have in the movie but I will come back and tell you.

Guys this is where you write out word for word your own scene you think should be in the movie. Its NOT a place where you list a scene you want and vaugley describe how you want it done.

I am not supposed to write out copyrighted Material like that. I said I want the scene with Ed and Eustace Verbatum. In other words I want it the way that Lewis wrote it exactly. I am not going to toy with Lewis intellectual property by writing it out in conversation form.

Well, that will take me a while since I have little *imitating spongebob* imagination.

I can certainly agree with wanting that scene to be EXCACTLY the way Lewis wrote it, but I think there may have to be sone slight change. In the book Lewis has Edmund say to Eusatce " You were only an ( word that is constured as profantity in our present culture omitted as I don't want to be banned by the mods.) I was a traitor."
It could be retooled to be,"You were only a pest, I was a traitor."

One Scene I'd like to see is after Eusatce has been dedragonified and returns to them. Lucy has noticed that Eustace is gone again and is worried about him. She stays up all the night, with Reep trying to comfort her.
Reep: there, there your highness....
Lucy: I am so worried for him.
Reep: I am sure nothing bad ahs happened to him.
Lucy:( looks at him) What can be worse then him becoming a dragon?
Reep: Well, for one, he could be turned into a pair of dragon skinned boots.
Lucy: Reepicheep!
SFX:(Twig snaps)
Reep draws his rapier: Who goes there?
Lucy awakens Edmund and Caspian.
Lucy: Someone's coming, she whisperes.
Edmund: Show yoruself stranger!
Esuatce: Edmund? Lucy?
All: Eustace!
Lucy races to him with out thinking and gives him a hug.

Also... Lucy cuddling Reepicheep at the end. I don't only want that as a scene, I want that as I collectible figurine from Weta Sideshow collectables! C'mon, Lucy cuddling Reepicheep!

No they should use the word that would be cause for censorship here, it would show the difference of the culture we live in today and that of the 1940's and make up for the awful "Oh my gosh, he's so cute," remark.

I actuall don't think jackass is a profanity. When Lewis wrote it he wasn't refering to someone's rear end. And if you are quoting something from the book you really can't be banned cause this site was created and based on the book.

I think it would also be an interesting thing to add in to show how our culture has(unfortunately) changed.

A lil fan fic

Ya'll are gonna hate me for this but...(I actually hope this NEVER gets into the movie!)*and also lets pretend Lucy is like 13 or 14...not 10 lol*

Caspian never imagined he would feel this way. She was to go to the world's end and leave Narnia, perhaps forever. He had requested that he would say goodbye to each and everyone of them alone with Reepicheep first and Lucy last. When it came to be her turn Lucy was almost crying.
"Lucy," Caspian said, "I want to come with you."
"Capian we've been over this. You are to rule Narnia. And how can you say that after what Aslan told you? And what about Ramadu's daughter...you promised her."
"I know, I said I want to go, it doesn't mean I will."
"Why?"
It took him a moment to answer, but when he finally did he said it with a nervous laugh.
"Because of you."
"Me? I-"
"I love you, Lucy Pevensie. It was just too late for me to admit it."
"Love me?"
"Yes, I...I knew the moment when we all thought Eustace was an evil dragon and you had the courage to have pity on him. It was the most courageous, tenderhearted I have ever witness in a person."
"I don't know what to say."
"I just wanted to let you know before you go, but now, now that I see that it can never be, I'm regretting it."
Lucy smiled walked over to him and kissed his cheek. But once she did so she felt something she had never felt before, like the feeling when you see a large flock of swans fly onto a lake or a run through a meadow in mid-morning. Suddenly she held his face and kissed him on the lips. Caspian could feel the warm heartedness that Lucy always seemed to have, and he loved every second of it.
They both smiled and gave eachother warm, long hugs, both feeling like they could live in that moment forever. He led her to where Edmund and Eustace were, just about to get on the smaller boat. He helped her in, kissed her hand, and held a long tender stare.
"Farewell my friends, I hope one day we'll meet again."

He watched them leave from the end of the ship, waving smoothly. Lucy looked back at him and until she was out of his sight they both smiled at eachother, longing for that kiss to have lasted longer.

Well that'd be kinda weird... First Susan, now Lucy; crowded, I'd say.

Scene in the Dawn Treader... I definately agree with Sven-El on the dragon scene. I'd love to see the reaction on Lucy's face... I'd especially like to see what Eustace as a dragon would look like for the movie.

For me, though, I'd say the Lonely Island has got to play a major part in the movie. Gotta make it in. I wouldn't know exactly how it would go; that's what the filmmakers have to decide, IMO.

I love seeing reactions on people's faces to pretty much anything. That, to me, is the way to really act. That'd be great with the golden island and the land of the Duffers. :D However the story, to me, kinda lagged down in the end and blew up when Aslan says none of 'em will ever return (I don't think anyone here hasn't read all the books.) *spoiler* (which they eventually do) I sort of detest Lewis for that. I mean, make up your mind, man! Do they return or don't they?!

I didn't really think there was much closure. He kinda ran through what happened next; children get home quickly, Caspian marries princess, reep leaves the world , and we're all supposed to be happy?? I mean, I was having a great time reading all the adventures, and then Lewis goes all sort of William Styron on us in the end. Oh well. Adamson did a pretty good job with Prince Caspian; hopefully the next director (and writers) will do the same with the Dawn Treader.

Truman, none of them ever do return to Narnia who were specifically told they could not. H&HB cannot count as that was a midquel of LWW that took place during their reign of the Golden Years of Narnia. In TLB, none of the Pevensies ever did step foot in Narnia. They remained completely in Aslan's Country.

As for the ending of VotDT, of course Lewis just ran through the ending of what happened. It did have a somewhat fairy tale ending "and they all lived happily ever after, or at least until the next book." Lewis wrapped up as much as he could of the voyage of the Dawn Treader leaving off the non-adventuous events of the return visit. As it is said in "The Neveredning Story" on a number of occasions, "But that is another story..."

I meant -- return to that world... but I'd be mistaken anyway, so nevermind. You're right.

Ending... I usually think in a "cinematic" way when reading something, and to me, cinematically, it didn't have much closure. But yes it was a book, not a movie, so I'm pretty much wrong to think that way as well. :o Hopefully it'll get cleared up when they make the film. :)
