The following thread is rated R for ranting throughout. Reader discretion is advised ya'll:

I've noticed there has been a huge lack of creative fiction in the professors writing club,(I'm not saying their gone completely but a guy can only take so much CT fangurlage  )

That was pretty much the allure to me of this forum, once upon a time. I've been gone alot, for months on end so I'm pretty sure the confusion is natural.Aagain you have my apologies for disappearing so much. But there were so many great stories being told. Rich and diverse, spanning all kinds of genres from fantasy, to horror, to tear jerkers. It was the only forum on the interwebz that I knew of where anyone, from teens to adults, could post any story that could be imagined. What happened to the creativity?

Not saying its all gone,( thanks to C0pF0x and many, many others :) ) but there really is a lack thereof that I've noticed recently. We need ourselves some writers. The poetry has pretty much remained amazing though (for that Im gratefull) But havent we all had enough celtic thunder fanficz? which Im not really sure it is in the first place?

Peice

I have a few projecs on the back burner. It's not over by any means. Fanfic comes in cycles and this is a low cycle. But keep a squint out for some new works soon, matey.

dude, you're not the only one completly annoyed.I may be one of them, but I was also the first. Now people are coming in and writng the same thing over ad over.I'm thinking of discontinuing the whole thing and moving to my Doctor Who FF.Because its unique. And I am sick and tired of all these fangirls taking over the place.ITS JUST A CELTIC BAND!!!!

I DID make a comment like this on another thread....
This is an area for a bunch of stories not just one fandom.... and I have told the CT fangirls there is a site for JUST CT fangirling.

I don't think anybody should be disgruntled with things; after all, you are NOT forced to read anything in these forums, so if it bugs you, either leave it alone, leave the forums, or just ignore it. Big deal; don't gripe about it to other people. If people want to write fanfictions, then let them (as long as it's family friendly). It's their choice to writeand post, and your choice either to ignore them or read them.

I don't really see a point in this thread, to be honest.

*salutes the wise one* yes ma'am.
I think i compain too much.
say,why did you get rid of your VM thingy?

In my mind TDL is a place for free expression. Just because multiple people are expressing the same thing is not a problem. I hate debates and I'm not going to be a part of this thread after this post but all I want to say is, I want to be obsessed. Please let me be.

I do agree with Aravis here. The Writing club is for everybody and if you don't like the fanfics, writings etc just don't read them ;) Many people show their talents and want to write down a fanfic, poem or story. I think they are all doing whatever they can. Yes there are a lot of CT fanfics but I don't see anything bad in it. There are also a lot of other stories like HP, Twilight or Star wars and LOTR related besides the Narnia based ones. Nobody forces you to read them all Joe

Edit: I think you are healthy obsessed Kitty and I love it ;)

There will be more Narnian material coming soon. Why don't you suggest what you're interested in reading about? You might just get your wish.

I really don't mind either that there are so many of one thing. I just don't read something if I don't like it. People write what they want to write. Like I usually write more original fiction, and some people usually write fanfiction. Point? Besides you can always read or re-read old TDL stories.:D

I'm just gonna say, since I haven't posted for long in the P'sWC, that MagicalHobo777 is a genius. That is also my opinion, thanks for being brave enough to share it. *hugs*

MagicalHobo, dude to be honest, you've only been registered (at least what your thing says) for a couple months. So how can you have been gone for a couple months?? I don't think you've hade enough time with TDL to have experienced the full flux of story writing.

I'm tired of CT fanfic as well. They're all the same:

"AAAAH! I MET THE BAND AND THEY ARE MY BFF AND I SANG WITH THEM AAAAAA!"

I've got my own creative story here, somewhere, but haven't updated in in ages.
Darn Writer's block.

*feels bad about the CT fandom - cause she sort of began it*

I don't like the generalization of them though. Aside from the first story, none of mine have that plot you said.
I never planned on posting them here, really. They were meant to be on a CT fansite, which I HAVE directed the CT fangirls to post their tales. I just thought some of my friends here would like to read them...

I never would have if I thought it would begin a debate. Nor if I had known what I'd started. They were a fun little thing I did to occupy my summer time that was all.

Sorry.

What's bothersome is not that the CT fandom exists or even that it posts here. But that I spent weeks planning and executing "Swept Away" and even had a custom sig banner for each day that related to the day that chapter was posted. And all people seemed to do was look at non-Narnia stuff. Considering that I had prepared the entire story in advance, proofed it, illustrated it, researched it, and took the time to strip out the Microsoft Word thingies that ruined cuts and pastes paragraph by paragraph, yes, I guess it did discourage me. In fact I resolved then and there that long stories were simply not worth it. Had something to do with five whole people replying to the story. Five whole people.....about one person to every 50 pages.

This forum is hard on fanfic authors. It's a hole into which large, complex and commercial quality stories fall and not even light escapes. And don't be surprised if such things get marketed toward The Lion's Call or Narnian Fanfic Revolution rather than The Dancing Lawn.

I'm willing to try again if people are even halfway supportive.

I have never lost my intention to work on the "Swept Away" sequel, but I just can't do everything at once.
