Not for me, sinceI know that PC will always be at the bottom of my list. ;) And I don't particularly care for TLB since it's the last book. I hate the end of a series.

Though, HHB and TSC are tied for first. I don't realy know why I like TSC so much.

"The Horse and His Boy" is my favorite.

"Prince Caspian" is my second favorite.

"The Magician's Nephew" is my third favoirte.

"The Silver Chair" is my fourth favorite.

"The Last Battle" is my fifth favorite.

"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is my sixth favorite.

"The Voyage of the Dawn Treador" is my seventh favorite.

updated scores

as far as i know, this poll is unlike any other, in so far as we are individually ranking the books to get a final statistic. other polls have been for favourite or least favourite only.

updated scores from 15 people: all books have been both favourite AND least favourite unless otherwise stated.

TLB 71 (still leading, with no one placing it last)
HHB 67
LWW 64
TSC 62 (still no ones favourite, but 2nd fav 5 times!!)
TMN 59
VDT 55
PC 43

cor, if there are similar threads, the mods merge them. I'm sorry; that's the way it goes. When you have multiple threads, it clutters up the forum and makes it harder to sort through. Technically, this thread is based on what the favorite book is. Calling it something different doesn't change the facts; all that you're merely doing is doing the polling manually instead of automatically.

If anyone has the link to the older thread, please post it or send it to Benisse. She was trying to search for it but couldn't find it because the forum search wouldn't work.

I love all of the Narnia books the same, and it is hard to pick just one as a favorite, but here is my order:

1. VODT
2. PC
3. MN
4. LWW
5. LB
6. HHB
7. SC

combined thread totals

i went through these threads and only added the best to worst lists of the 7 books to create these new totals. where someone has posted more than once, i've taken the most recent answer only.

Very interesting because LAST BATTLE has dropped to near the bottom from a strong lead.

totals from 39 people:

LWW 171
TMN 169
HHB 167
VDT 157
TSC 153
TLB 149
PC 127

All books have been someone's favourite, and someone else's least favourite

whoever merged these threads, it would be preferable to merge it with the other thread, as this one has a poll attached at the top, and is actually just a thread to vote for your favourite book ONLY, not all 7 in order (except for a couple of people). this poll at the top of the page is misleading as it bears no representation on the actual poll now being undertaken. the other thread had no poll at the top, and was a thread asking for best to least favourite in order. there is no way an automated voting poll can be created to accomodate for all those variables, as there is only one choice u can make on them.

cor, people will come into this thread regardless, so don't you think you should let it pass? And you don't have just the option of one choice on polls. You can set it for multiple choice, where users can choose one, two, or all of the options available. I'm not contacting the mod who merged these to tell her to take the poll off, nor am I telling her that it wasn't merged with the "right" thread. Typical procedure for merging threads is to merge the newest with the oldest; the newest becomes part of the oldest thread.

YOu can either PM a mod about it yourself, stop griping, or ask the mods to change how they do things. Up to you. But I think you're overreacting just a tad.

Hi Cor
I'm the moderator who merged the favorites thread with the ranking thread of all seven chronicles. I appreciate what you are doing in your 7-way tabulations and recognize the poll might be misleading. However I grouped the two threads together because to me the idea behind both was similar, and it gives those Narniacs who do have a favorite book but really have not fine-tuned a ranking of all seven books a chance to participate too. In general, to keep the Forum tidy, similar themed threads tend to be combined. I'm glad you have been able to incorporate the partial data in your rankings nonetheless.

P.S.Thanks to all you non-mods like BK, Mewsie and AravisK for keeping your eyes open for overlapping threads -- not only for saving forum space but to help enrich our discussions. It's a blessing to have your extra eyes working for the Dancing Lawn!!

I love all The Chronicles of Narnia books and also it's characters!.. But I voted for the voyage of the Dawn Treader since this book caught my interest and I learned much more virtues from this book...:D

Thanks for getting us back on track Amarlie.

It's hard for me to rank all seven books, but my favorites are
The Last Battle/Magician's Nephew (tied for first)
Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (2nd)
The others are about the same -- it depends on which one I'm reading to pick a third favorite.

Well pardon me for trying to help the mods. oh, and by the way, I found your last sentence very offensive and rude. I don't appreciate it, and I won't be addressing you in this thread anymore. In fact, I'm bowing out because I already posted my list and this thread is becoming a bother.
I second that! Sometimes I feel hurt that you, AK, take offense over the slightest thing. But THAT was just RUDE.

1. The Silver Chair
2. The Magician's Nephew
3. The Voyage of Dawn Treader
4. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
5. Prince Caspian
6. The Horse and His Boy
7. The Last Battle

I have a hard time choosing between Silver Chair and Magician's Nephew, because I really like Silver Chair and Eustace and Puddleglum, BUT Magician's Nephew was my favourite last time I read it. That was long ago, though, and I'm rereading it now so I'll probably change my mind, but it's this way at the time.

About the last two on my list.
I thought Horse and His Boy was really boring and I didn't like the Last Battle because they died. D:

BUT. As I said, I'm rereading it, so I could change my mind, especially about Horse and His Boy since it's about non-Pevensies (I like non-Pevensies better for some reason. :p)

EDIT:

So now I've read SC and I absolutely love it! So it's #1 now. :D

Of course, if I reread MN there is a possibility that I'd change my mind again. :p

My personal favourite is The Magician's Nephew. Followed by LLW abd HB. I'm not sure about the other books, because I believe my order may have changed. I'd have to read all of them again to make a list from favourite to least-favourite, I guess.

That's such a hard question for me because I genuinely love all 7 of the books. Voyage of the Dawn Treader used to be my favorite, but when I think back on my memories of all seven, it's very hard to pick a favorite. I tend to think of them almost as if they're all one book.
But, I still think I'll have to choose Voyage of the Dawn Treader because it was that book that taught me the most magical thing of all: Aslan is not just a story book character, He is a real person, and He is alive in our own world with a different name. In fact, it was Aslan Himself who brought me out of a life of sin and darkness, and ironically, dragons were involved in my conversion, much like Eustace.

Threads on the same topic, in different sections--moved and merged.

As for a favorite, I have trouble choosing between The Silver Chair and The Horse and His Boy.
