Ireland would be a decent place to film too, but I'm betting on Prince Caspian. The movie industry gets some great deals and tax breaks by filming in New Zealand. There would be more red tape to get through with Ireland and it would probably cost more. Plus, while not ever close to the Middle East, Ireland does still have problems in acts of terrorism and such. So you have to deal with that when making a movie, and you have to remember that Lewis was from Belfast. Now, I'm sure most of you will say I'm reading too much into this but these are things the producers will be considering before filming. I just think they will end up in New Zealand for principal photography.

its only northan ireland where the problems are. there is no terrisom in the republic of ireland. and the trouble in notharn ireland is hardly there at the mo. but wherever they film prience caspian it b e good.

Northern Ireland Does not have any terrorism, as such now, bombs and shootings going off. We have peace here and are still working on it. It is the best we have had in over 10 years and we are still getting there. But we will never go back to to those's days again. I should know I live in Belfast and also the same city where C.S.Lewis was born and lived while he was young.

That's cool about CS Lewis.... does his stepson live there??

I think they should share between NZ and Ireland, both great places free of bombing and all that!

Ireland might seem a good spot. The snowy scene that they did at Cechz was not bad either. I dont mind where they are going to film the next sequel but i hope that they build a Narnia Land over there so that when people go to the country will have a feeling of being at Narnia.

Unlike what they did to LOTR. They distroys Minas Tirith & Helms Deep at New Zealand! What the...how stupid more can the NZ government be? Dont they know that it'll attract more people to go there?

maybe they dont choose czech republic because maybe harry potter and the order of the phoenix is shooting there and there are rumors that hpootp is also showing in 2007.june 2007 to be exact. can you imagine d chronicles of narnia meets harry potter cast?!? both films are competing for the box office hits. and maybe also they are one of the(both of the films) probable nominees for the (film) academy awards...wish for the both of them luck! i never heard of the nominees. we'll find out who'll win in march. march is the month for the academy awards i've seen it in the star world and movies. hehe american idol roks!

I'm well aware that Ireland is working on their problems and have been doing better. But I can definitely tell you that the problems aren't fixed yet, and I know that fact probably better than a lot of you people who do live there. Some of you might do well to remember that a lot of your weapons are bought from America and my extended family is not the most savory bunch. Plus I have quite a bit of family in Ireland, family that needs to be a little more careful in my personal opinion.

Second, I was just trying to point out why there would be some debate over filming in Ireland. The producers are going to consider anything that could potentially harm or delay the film. If there has been a problem in recent years (and yes 10 is recent) they are going to consider that before filming. They could certainly decide to film there, I'm just trying to explain why they might not. But when its all said and done its going to come down to money which is another reason why I think NZ will win out in the end.

and miss elizabeth, The Order of the Phoenix is filming at Leavesden Studios just outside of London. They started filming today. the producers are hoping to release HP5 on June 2007 but they are also planning for a possible November 2007 release. Its pretty doubtful that either cast will meet the other during filming.

i know there are no problems there anymore. i visted belfast last year on my way to kerry and it is a lovely city.

What I would love is that they at least film just a small part of PC or other that will follow suit, in N.Ireland if possible. Just to give a mention to N.Ireland and due rewards to C.S.Lewis home Country which was to inspire him to write all these great tales.

I think Prince Caspain should be filmed in New Zeland because it is so beautiful! I mean, look at The Lord of the Rings. It was filmed there! Also, I think the big open valleys would be great for Alsan's How (I mean The Stone Table ;)) And the mountains and streams for when the gang is following the stream down to The Bridge *put place I forgot here*. Also, the whole Caspain in a castle, which took 1/5 or 1/4 of the book could all be filmed in a studio...

I find that more likely to be done. I can imagine them filming some of the scenes at Caspian's castle in Ireland. But I'm doubting principal photography will be done there. Companies just get phenomenal tax breaks by filming in New Zealand and they have so much less governmental red tape to deal with.

Ireland has more trees in it than NZ does, right? And it would have to look rather different than the old narnia, because when the Pevensies return, it has been several hundred years, and the Telmarines were afraid of the Nyads and Driads so they just let the woods grow up and never went into them, remember? And Peter gets them all lost on several occassions because of the millions of new trees that weren't there when they reigned. Just a thought.

interesting...where ever they pick, it just needs to look like the Narnia world they have already created.

ok no offense but it DOESN'T have to look the same. The reason: narnia is 100 years (at least) older when they come back and they mention in the book that it chaned alot, beside like no snow, so yah

its actually 1000 years later. and the geography of the land should remain much the same. there's just more trees.
