Which did you watch first?

Out of the animated and BBC versions, I've only watched the BBC ones. Even though they're old and the animation is not what it is today, they're still quite good!
 
I first saw the animated film, then the BBC film and then, of course Disney's film. I enjoyed them all, but the Disney version is the best by far although the other two stick closer to the book version as far as dialogue is concerned.
 
I grew up on the animated LWW, and the BBC version of The Siver Chair, Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I've never been able to figure out if the BBC version of LWW was simply not as good as the other three, or if I like the other three better only because I grew up with them.

Both the animated and BBC have wonderful music. :)
 
The BBC Chronicles was my first introduction to the world of Narnia. Been a fan ever since I saw them on TV in 1989. I saw the animated version a few years later but didn't like it at all. I read the books in my early teens and found those to be as good as the BBC series if not better.

BBC Narnia will always be the 'real' Narnia for me though :)
 
You guys are going to think I'm like some alien not from the planet Earth because... I hadn't even heard of Narnia until I saw the commercial in 2005! And of course I went to go see it and then I became a fan and read the books, but even after seeing the film first, I still think the books are better.
 
Hehe don't worry, I don't think you're an alien. Before the new movie came out I barely knew anyone who knew what Narnia was. I had known about it since 1989 but it was almost impossible to find fellow fans, at least for me :)
 
I read the books when I was 7 or 8, I watched the BBC version (didn't really like it), then I watched the 2005 version! :D Then last year I watched the animated one on Youtube, but didn't get past the lampost, it was boring and Mr. Tummus looks like a frog. :p
 
I saw the animated version first. I've saw it many times since I was very young. I remember a particular time when I watched it in Thailand when on holidays; I don't know how my parents found a copy, especially one in English. I haven't watched the animated version for years now. :( I only recently saw the BBC versions of VOTDT and part of SC (I'm yet to watch LWW, PC and the rest of SC) and I thought they were both great adaptions.
 
I watched the BBC version first. I don't remember why but my favorite was Prince Caspian and VODT. But I loved both.
 
My first exposure to Narnia was the American-made animated version of LWW. I really wish they would have continued and done the other books. Not a big deal though.
 
The BBC TLWW! I've never seen the animated film. Is it a good adaptation? I saw it once quite cheap but I was put off a little by the style (though I think it is interesting) and thinking the animation and story would be sub par, or something. I have judged films before like that and sometimes I'm wrong; sometimes I'm right.
 
Same here. I saw the BBC LWW version first. I really liked it back then, but now I find it kinda comical compared to the Disney/ Walden version. :p
 
I first read the books, found out about the BBC versions saw those and loved them, and then I saw the newer versions of Narnia and enjoyed them just as much.
 
I saw the BBC version in 6th grade as a school activity. It wasn't that great so I guess that's why I never attempted to read the books until after I saw the new LWW. I remember when it came out in theatres my little sister wanted to see it but I told her that the BBC version was so bad than the new one counldn't be better so we went and saw something else. Huge mistake. I eventually saw the new movie in 9th grade as a school activity again and that was what turned me into a Narnia fanatic. It was the great music in the battle scenes that really got me. After that I read the books and more of Lewis' stuff. Reading Mere Christianity was a big turning point spiritually for me.
