Which did you watch first?

Sadly for me, I saw neither versions. For me, it was I saw a play when I was in elementary school for a school field trip. Then I forgot about it till I saw the Disney version of LWW. I really wish I read or saw the BBC version when I was younger.

you can still get them on video or DVD (i think...)
 
My first exposure to Narnia was with the animated version of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." Our school library had that book, and then when I saw that there were other books, I got confused. Especially because the collection included multiple copies of each book with the same covers but the different numbering from when the books were changed to be chronological. I never did read the rest for many years because of that confusion. I also was turned off by the loss of the Pevensie children.
 
Ahh, as for what I've SEEN first, it would be the BBC LWW - but I, the child of 'great Disney movies' and veggies that looked 'real' (LOL), thought that it was dull, silly, and.. quite scary actually. The witch terrified me. Prior to that, I always listened to the audio book (Focus on the family maybe?) of LWW.

When Disney/Walden LWW came out, I saw bits of it. Fell in love with Narnia when PC came out. Didn't even see (nor know) that there were more BBC movies or the animated one until after that... The animated Narnia is scary :P.
 
Actually, the first thing I watched was the Disney LWW when it was released to theatres. I had never heard about CoN before then, unfortunately, although my dad once made a reference to VDT - saying that the Dawn Treader was his favourite name for a ship.

I think I may have watched one or two of the BBC movies, but I greatly disliked them.
 
My introduction to Narnia was through the animated series I spent months after that as a child going to my wardobe and all the other ones in the house trying to get through. How disappointing it was for me when all I hit was wooden board every time. Ijust recently saw the animated series again and although now it looks dated it still holds it's place in my heart as the one that welcomed me to the magic
 
I read LWW first, then watched the animated version, then read the other six books, then watched the BBC Silver Chair, then the 2005 movie, then the other BBC's out of curiosity, and then PC.
 
I watched the Children's Television Workshop version of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe in the 80's! (Note my avvy picture) :)
 
First I saw* was the BBC TV series, live actors. Obviously not CGI-quality visuals but did a very good job of adapting the books (tho' I thought Lucy was horribly miscast, which is hardly the fault of the child actor in question). They rolled up PC and VotDT into one series, and got as far as The Silver Chair (featuring Tom Baker as Puddleglum).

I have a very poignant memory of the final episode of TSC -- my fiancee and I observed a truce to watch the final episode before we got on with calling off our engagement. Still, here I am 32 years later married with two fine sons.

(And my word, but is this an old thread)

*Actually I have a memory of seeing part of the animated version of LWW some years earlier...
