I prefer the new one. I watched it after watching the movie.
Maybe I am spoiled, but the new one is better.

Quality too, and I'm not just talking about the screen..
 
It is interesting to note that sales of the animated version of LWW and the BBC series of the Chronicles of Narnia have gone through the roof since the release of the Waldon film. People obviously want more and more of Narnia so they are purchasing many different things.

Yeah I know what you mean! They even got that awful cartoon out at the video shop again! :eek: (I HATE that cartoon!)
 
I haven't actually seen the new film yet but hope to soon.

The BBC TV versions I have mixed feelings about. They were quite faithful to the books but the acting was variable. The actress playing Lucy didn't look the part in my view. The special effects were rather dodgy too. I know they did the best they could with the technology and money available, but especially with Aslan they just did not make it beleivable.

I loved the cartoon version though!
 
I've just seen the film! I enjoyed it enormously, sets special effects and acting were all excellent. In those respects it's much better than the BBC version. The actors seemed to fit the parts better too. The BBC version is more faithfull to the book, but both heavily toned down the religious elements.
In particular missing out mentioning the Deeper Magic really detracted from the deeper meaning Lewis intended so I was rather annoyed at that. But of all the film/TV adaptions of LWW it's the best there is so far
