Who ruled after the Pevensie's??

Hi everybody!

I've got a question here,...
peter, susan, edmund and lucy just vanish out of narnia while they are hunting, so I assume nobody knew where they disappeared to.
and this is my question: Who became King and Queen after they've gone???
The telmarines conquered Narnia much later, didn't they!?! Or have I mist something in the books???

It's never clear in the books, my Queen. There's been speculation that the turmoil in Narnia that Aslan alludes to in Caspian was the turmoil following the abrupt vanishing of the Kings & Queens, but I doubt it. I agree with you that the Telmarine interregnum started several hundred years later. Since they all died "without issue", that is something Lewis never answered.

i would geuss that since they were brothers and sisters they probably decided that Mr. Tumnus would rule if they left, died, or anything else that could of happened but Aslan never said because it was not anyones story

@ CentaurMan

Hey, this is a really gooood thought!!! :) It really could be that a friend of the children should rule if they had gone! But didn't Aslan say in "Prince Caspian" that only somebody of human blood could become Kind or Queen???
Just asking!

I imagine that the squires and other people who helped run state matters would have took over but it obviously didn't work for long since Narnia got sacked sometime by the Telemarines. It's really hard to keep a nation in order if you don't have an appointed ruler since everyone would fight over who should do what, and such, which would weaken them to enemies

I'm not sure but I think I red this in one book.It says that when you go in to Narnia and you go back where you came from there won't be any time taken.(and in vise versa)

I shall tell this to you as only the Mage Scribe can...so gather around my bairns and I shall tell ye.

First off, "Cair Paravel" means "Castle of the Secondaries" because they all rule under Aslan's Grace, kings and queens under the King of Kings.

For this reason there can be no royal house without at least Aslan's by-your-leave. And that is why Narnian Lions have "Rex L Gr" on them, short for "King by Grace of the Lion".

Without a fit king, we revert to an interregnum which is administered by a Lord Protector. The Lord Protector conducts the business of the kingdom, but he (or she) is not allowed to make changes to the Great Charter, to pass any new law that imposes the death penalty, to create any new hereditary titles or to declare any war except in self defence. He/She shall also have no powers to declare new days of observance or to dispense with existing ones. His/Her face shall appear on no coin of the realm and never shall the Lord Protector use the Great Seal of Aslan on documents but rather shall sign them, "If Aslan Wills." The proper title shall be "My Lord" with a bow at the waist, for only before the King does one bow upon the left knee and only before Aslan does one bow upon the right knee.

well, i think its meant to be unknown, because according to lewis' narnian time line the pevensies dissapear in 1015, and the next monarch of narnia listed is Queen Swanwhite in 1502, so it seems that it was a mystery even to lewis himself.

No, it did say, (I think) at least two times in the books, that only Adam's flesh and Adam's bone could rule Narnia and have it prosper... that's partly why Jadis sucked, and why the first rulers of Narnia were humanss, King Frank and Queen Helen, not beasts... :D

To Chakal: Ooh, I didn't know that... :)

That's what I've already said,...,but you're right!! It didn't say that they ever had children(did Lucy, edmund, susan & peter marry?? ), so other humans must have come to Narnia then!! This could have been another good book which Lewis could have written :D :D
