Mr. Tumnus is a cool character. I thought some of the things he said were odd, and funny when I first read the book as a kid, and still think of them that way. He was a good character, and was protecting Lucy by not turning her in, even though it could've been a lot worse on his part. I still pick Lucy as my favorite character.

I have to say that I like Lucy to!

That's great that you do! When I first read the LWW and PC as a kid I was leering towards Susan being my favorite, because I enjoyed the words that she said, but then Lucy's imagination and always having total faith won my heart as being my favorite. My loyalty and love of Lucy being my favorite has never waivered.

When I watched the trailer I thought that the best character would be Susan, because she is equipped with a magical bow. But when I watched the film, I really fell in love with Lucy, she is so sweet, so innocent. She also has the faith and the hope.

My favourite chracter is Edmund. He's my favourite since I watch LWW, and when I read the books later I still love Edmund. His betrayal and then redemption was great because we see that he is human and people can make mistakes but then became a good person.

My favourites are Aslan and Lucy :)

I also like Jadis, but I think that's because I'm a Tilda Swinton fangirl :D Not sure I would've been all that keen on her if someone else played her lol.

Meghan, are you aware that there was a REAL girl known to Mr. Lewis, who is thought to have been the inspiration for the character of Lucy? I forget the details now, but it seems to me that this girl and her family were guests of Mr. Lewis in the same way as the fictional Pevensies were guests of Digory Kirke.

Actually, I think Lucy Barfield, Lewis' goddaughter was the inspiration for Lucy Pevensie while his experiences in housing evacuees was part of his inspiration for the story. Of course, some of the girls he housed may have added to Lucy's personality as well as the personalities of the other Pevensies.

Copper, I seem to recall a dedication in the front of one of the books(LWW I believe) referring to a Lucy...he is her godfather ...????? Anyone else remember that? I am at work now so I can't look in my books.

Here is what the dedication says:

To Lucy Barfield

I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realized that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you wll be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. You can then take it down from some upper shelf, dust it, and tell me what you think of it. I shall probably be too deaf to hear, and too old to understand a word you say, but I shall still be

your affectionate Godfather,
C.S. Lewis

Just so you can picture it, the greeting is centered while the closing and signature was on the right.

I think Lucy will always be my favorite. and Aslan, but that goes with out saying.

Yes, it's unfair to expect any other character to compete with God.

NOW AVAILABLE!! For those who have shown interest in my past music ministry, somebody has made a YouTube video of a song I wrote the words for! Lead vocal is Kevin S. Johnson, but I'm singing on there too. Recorded in 1976.
