I honestly liked the movie, for a while though, i wouldnt even watch it cause i had heard that it had been changed a lot, but when I saw it I loved it and i will tell you why.
1) Peter's attitude- I disliked it at first, but found it an interesting addition because it sorta showed that he is human, not some perfect king who always did the right thing and never did anything brash, or stupid. It shows that he DID have a hard time with the fact that he left Narnia and may never get back. I also know for a fact that I would not (and already don't) like being treated like a kid (or at least a younger kid). And also, being the oldest in my family (sorta, i have 3 stepsisters) I know what it is like to have authority, and would hate to gain a lot of authority and then have it all taken away in an instant, and then, to top that, get back to where I had the authority, and find that I wouldn't hold that position for much longer because someone was taking my place.
2) Susan/Caspian romance- I thought it was a funny addition, it sorta added some lighter stuff to a darker movie, and was an interesting and clever addition, though it did not have to be there, especially because of Ramandu's Daughter and Caspian in the VDT, and it would be a little awkward for that to take place if Caspian had already fallen in love with Susan, but it looks like that will be okay from the trailers of the VDT.. :):D
3) The Castle Raid- Totally unnecessary, but added an awesome battle scene and developed Peter's pride and showed ,sort of, the reason why he was acting the way he was acting. It is one of my brothers favorite scenes.:D

Queen Lucy, there is something you need to understand. There are people in show business who, because THEY don't have high honor and self-discipline, don't WANT to believe that anyone ELSE really has those qualities either. So, in writing and in the media, they depict characters as NOT having those qualities. And if we object to the "dumbing down" of literary heroes, these revisionists will SAY that we are automatically demanding the opposite extreme of superheroes who have no faults at all.

But their saying this is only a weaselly evasion. In the BOOK of "Prince Caspian," Mr. Lewis did not portray Peter as having NO flaws; he depicted Peter as capable of doubts and mistakes. But he saw no need to go FURTHER and rob this hero of absolutely ALL qualities deserving to be admired. The Peter in the movie was left with NOTHING to distinguish him, NOTHING to make him a role model. Oh, wait a minute, he was able to row a boat, whoop-dee-doo.

But any clod might just _happen_ to be good enough with a sword to beat another swordsman. Even Adam-snot couldn't get away with NOT having the duel; but preserving this one bit of physical success for Peter did ZERO to compensate for having intentionally robbed him of his virtues of character.

"They left the dufflepuds out of the movie"

DTADuffer, PC did not have Difflepuds in it.

To continue with what Copper was saying, at the end of the movie when it was stated that neither Peter nor Susan were coming back, did you really believe that they had learned all there was to learn from Narnia? Who acted better as a former king or queen? Peter, Susan, Lucy, or Edmund. For me, it was Lucy and Edmund.

Lucy stayed steadfastly Aslan's disciple, never giving up on him. Edmund never forgot the mistakes he made in LWW and helped to save everyone from Jadis as well as using reverse psychology on Miraz to conivnce him to fight Peter

Susan was more to her character in the book, the pragmatist, with a touch of flirting with someone she knew was not available to her. Peter acted as if he was owed respect for being a former king of Narnia instead of having to earn that respect. He was not just given the moniker of "the Magnificent", it was also a large shoe to fill (in the book he earned that title from the Narnians) and apparently, he made it fit by earning the respect of the Narnians under his rule.

*pushes imaginary 'like' button* I agree. At the end, no one could believe that Peter and Susan had learned all the could from Narnia. Not if they acted like that. That part felt awkward in the movie. I was like, 'Do they expect us to think Peter and Susan are mature? Anyone who hasn't read the books must think that they're just too old to come back to Narnia.'

Actually thats the message many casual fans got. That Peter and Susan were just too old for Narnia.

Especially Susan, who many casual fans felt was just too mature for Narnia and that Aslan wanted her to move on to more adult things, such as relationships and kissing (like her kiss at the end of PC signified that she was moving on to become a grown woman).

In reality thats the opposite of the message of the book. Aslan didnt want Susan and Peter to go move on to live normal teenage and adult lives.

Yeah...I was looking forward to seeing Trumpkin and Trufflehunter dancing with the fauns :D And I'm sure the music would have been awesome

yeah! harry gregson williams did such a good job on the faun's pipes in the first one. And it would be funny to see Ben and the midgets dance around with animated creatures. can you imagine the special features that would make?!?!
Man I wish the TARDIS was real....we could go back and fix EVERYTHING!

Very good point. They were definitely robbed of their final poignant moments in Narnia -especially Peter.

Also I believe Don'tTrustADuffer was joking there! Particularly with that name. :p

If you consider Susan's character carefully (in both the movies and the books), do you really think she wanted to learn anymore from Narnia? Frankly put, I get the impression she didn't want to be there (she implies it when she's talking to Lucy at night by the campfire in the PC movie) any longer than she had to. Besides, at the end of the Chronicles, she doesn't even believe in Narnia anymore.

I find Susan a rather baffling character that way, since she lived an entire life in Narnia before PC before coming back to our world.

As for the end of the movie, they did make Susan and Peter's leaving abrupt, although it did manage to make me a bit sad, especially with Peter. He was such a prominent character in LWW and PC.
