Why The Magician’s Nephew is a bold place to begin the new Narnia film cycle

Agreed. If you remember the days of vinyl records as well as I do, there were all sorts of albums of the "Hundred Greatest Moments of Classical Music." It ends up that these albums had almost the same 100 selections because record producers copied other such albums with their own artists and there you be. That's why you see Bolero in all 100-selection albums but Tintagel in none of them.

Everyone starts with LWW. Everyone. BBC did, Melendez/Mendelsohn did, Walden did, the old BBC B/W production did.

And they all ran out of steam before TMN and TLB. All of them. People will go to see TMN simply because as the ONLY movie, it must be the BEST.

Well, of course, it would receive the title by default.

Eventually there needs to be some creativity with the lore that you have and the story you're telling. Now, if we were to do other genres, say a tv series, then by all means start with LWW, but you can't even do that with video games because they already made video games as companions to the films.
