Will Poulter Cast as Eustace

I think he absolutely looks like Eustace! I love this selection! Go Michael Apted!

I get terrified just by looking at his pic. The producers did right in picking him! He just has this Eustace look that means trouble! Love the this kid already.

Let's remember Eutace does reform less than half way threw The VDT, and is a good guy in both SC and LB. I always liked Eutase because he reforms and becomes a better person. Eustace was a snob not evil. We were all snobs before we came to Christ. I still fight my snob traits. So now that we have an actor I hope they don't make him into the evil boy. As Edmund said, "You were only an ass, I was a traitor".

Sorry about the language, it is a quote from the book. Boys that age talk that way.:p

The more important thing is that he looks like he could be related to Georgie (the Hair), Skander (the freckles), and Anna (just look at Anna's brother he is in the new Peter Pan). He is awesome for the part in terms of the look. By the way, I think that Lewis says something about fair hair for Eustace I am not sure though.

He does have a resemblance to Georgie.

In the VODT illustrations, Eustace has black hair. Why must they always do the opposite?

In all the excitement over Will and how much he looks the part, nobody has mentioned the line in the article that makes me sort of cringe:

"Peter and Susan don't feature in this story - at least not in the one C.S Lewis wrote."

This seems an ominous hint that they are going to figure out a way to shove Moseley and Popplewell into VDT to milk their fan appeal for all it is worth. Why can't they leave the material alone and just make the movie the way Lewis wrote it?

I have to admit that he looks like he`ll be great for the part. Well, now I know there`s no possible chance of me becoming Eustace lol.

I just hope the films aren't changed in any way because there's going to be a different director. I mean, look at the Harry Potter films. The first two were great because they were directed by Chris Columbus, but they started going downhill once they started changing the directors. I really hope that doesn't happen to Narnia

I've heard nothing but good things about Michael Apted, so I feel he's a very competent director and should be able to do a great job with the film.

The kid really does look like a Eustace (or Useless as Trumpkin said in SC :P), but I also have always imagined him with darker hair. I hope that Son of Rambow comes out soon to DVD so I can see how well the kid can act.

You've got to be kidding me. The first two were scene for scene the book I will give you that, but that next 3 have been so much better. Prisoner of Azakban is probably one of the best movies of 2004, and its darker. Chris Columbus is a good director but he doesn't know how to make a movie dark. Goblet of Fire was ok, never really cared for the book to begin with. In my opinion the ending is the only thing that matters which is perfect. And then you have Order of the Phoenix which IS better than the book. They cut out all the fluff with Harry complaining and stuff and made it a better movie. Though there was one scene or two I would have liked to see in the movie it was still great. So I honestly believe that next direction can only make Voyage of the Dawn Treader better.

He definitely has the right face, whatever they do with his hair--which should be a bit longer for the movie. He looks like he can play a convincing complainer, but also--like Edmund--play the "good guy" just as well. I just love when the cast begins to be announced! :)

Michael Apted did really great in Amazing Grace. I think I may even like him better than Andrew. He is not going to inject as much of the modern humor that Andrew did into his work.

ACK ACK ACK. Of all the times to be busy and gone!!!! :p Today the internet was being fussy, so I just decided to test it by going to narniafans.com and I couldn't believe what was on the front page! (My brother was a little alarmed when I screamed, LOL.) The weirdest thing was that last night I dreamed about them casting Eustace. And I haven't really been thinking much about Narnia lately. I'm really super excited now!!! I think Will (uh-oh, now there are two Wills) looks great for Eustace. Not, perhaps, exactly as I imagined Eustace, but that doesn't matter. I also couldn't believe how much he looks like Georgie! And at least he's 14, not 17, though I would have preferred 12-13.

Overall, I'm happy!!! *dances* :D
