What if this was all a dream? If it was, it was a very good dream; or so Darron thought. It could turn ugly at any moment.
Kate looked up at her brother. "What are you thinking of?" the little girl inquired.
"Kate," Darron said, "Where are you? You aren't dead, are you?"
Kate looked confused. "Dead? Darron, what has come over you? Dead? No, of course not. But I've been looking for you for a long time."
So she hadn't been killed, after all; or had she? Dreams often turned out to be dreams only, and nothing more.

"Look at the others," Jade said, "Some of their hazes are thickening, we better act fast say the words with me, Qao Kao mahtule, este` brou degan trall!"
"Qao Kao mahtule, este` brou degan trall!"

Only some of the hazes started to disapate.

Lisbeth looked around her. Things were fading.... Only Rush seemed to be lingering with her. She grasped at him, trying to keep him with her. The little boy was fading all of the time. "Rush!"
"Lizzy! Don't worry about me or the others! We are in a better place now!"
"Rush, don't leave me!"
"Don't worry Lizzy! I'll see you again soon!"
Lisbeth watched everything disappear as several tears rolled down her cheeks. Then, she was in the old room again.

Lisbeth straightened and whiped her tears away quickly. "Yes," she said quickly, "I'm fine."

Darron watched Kate and his grandmother, whom he knew was dead, begin to fade slowly. He wanted to keep them there, he wanted to stay with him. Kate skipped back over to her chair and picked up her violin. "Listen, Darron!" she cried, and began to play.

Just then, Darron seemed to hear the voice of the purehearted demon-hunter Vissarion coming to him from far away: "Darron! There is another way, a better way than illusions, to receive compensation for your sorrows and forgiveness for your sins! You must trust the Creator, that _HE_ holds the souls of the dear departed safely in His loving and merciful hands! You must let the Lord of life, BE Lord!"

"Alright good. Are you good with languages?"

"Alright good. Are you good with languages?"

"Well, I'm not very good, but I can give it my best shot," Lisbeth replied.

The violin in his sister's hands played a sweet and sad tune that faded quieter and quieter as the scene faded away. So it was an illusion. And that voice that he had heard, was it Vissarion's? His mind went back to what the man had told him before.

Sonali was holding onto his shoulder

Raj? Where are you? i can see you in the rescret, but you're not here

Raj was too dumbfounded to reply and could only smile

SONI DI! you're here!!! COME WITH ME - he screamd as he unsuccesfuly to pull the image of Sonali along

"Just repeat after me. Qao Kao...... mah-tule, este`...... brou degan trall!"

"Qao Kao..... mah-tule este`...... brou degan trall!" Lisbeth paused after that and then asked, "how does this help us, just, out of curiousity?"

"It's the Sacred Language, it can get rid of spells, illusions, ...evil mage work bascially."

"Alright all three of us."

"Qao Kao mahtule, este` brou degan trall!"

Lisbeth watched as the hazes began to thin around her freinds. Darron's was still the thickest. What was it that he was caught in, she wondered.

Darron didn't want it to fade. He wanted to know for sure that Kate was still alive somewhere. If only he could be sure! But he couldn't. And if he went back, there was the problem of Lisbeth. He sighed. But, if he couldn't even forgive himself, how would she ever forgive him? His mind wandered to what Vissarion had told him before.

One more time, the mysterious warrior's voice DID reach Darron:

"She IS alive in another place! But you must give up trying to MAKE that place be reachable by your will. She will be at peace, waiting for you to come to her; but there are things you need to pass through before you can go to where she is..."

Darron heard Vissarion's voice quite clearly that time. "She's alive?" he thought. Suddenly, he realized that he couldn't waste his life in an illusion, a fantasy. As he decided that, the others saw the haze around him decrease a lot.
"Is it working?" Lisbeth asked.

"I guess so," Jade said.
"But look Verra is still in hers. Gosh her's was the thickest of em all!"
"I told you she'd be the hardest, the way she lost her son...she may never come out of it."

Veragoe held Sion tightly.
"I love you mama," he said, his blonde hair felt like angel dust.
"I love you too baby, mama will never leave you again."

"What happened to Verra, to make her haze so thick?" Lisbeth asked, looking puzzled. Sh had been surprised that Darron's had been so thick, but this was nearly unbelieveable.

"Her son," Jade said, "she had a miscarriage. And one morning she said she awoke from a dream. It was of her son, and who he'd be. He was about 6, she said, and she walked across some bridge to hand him to the after life and to her ancestors."

"She's with him...the person she ever loved the most, but never had the chance toexpress it."
