Red Roses, I have a recommendation for the benefit of your calf muscles.
Stand on a stairstep, or some other place where you can (1) steady yourself, (2) have the balls of your feet on a solid surface, and (3) have the heel of one foot hanging out in empty space. (Thus, on a stairway, this would have you facing the upstairs direction.) Keep the leg you want to stretch straight, with its heel out in the air...and with the other leg bending as needed, SINK your body straight down, so the calf muscle stretches. This is better than conventional lunge stretches, because in that kind of stretch the very same muscle you're supposed to be limbering is being forced at the same time to TENSE itself to help hold you up.
