How do you feel about Xanga/Myspace

Okay, I need some help.

Some friends that I met at the WCWC want me to start a xanga blog, but....I have no clue how, or what it really is for that matter.

*sniff* Would somebody help this poor, confussed, not-good-with-computers soul...please?

What do you usually have trouble with when creating a Xanga? I'm sure some of us can help.

Lol, quit yer bawlin', Lu!

1) Go to www.xanga.com
2) Sign up
3) Complete the set-up wizard to start your site
4) Get an uber skin of doom(unlike me!)
5) In case you have trouble trying to modify your site, go to www.xanga.com and sign in--don't go to your site every morning, expecting it to allow you to edit it
6) If all else fails, seek professional help...................or maybe just play some Calvin-Ball
 
OK, this isn't really a xanga, but I've completely re-worked my webpage. I'm getting a lot more into independent video production, so I thought, hey! I need a good name! My dad and I came up with "Cool Hat Productions" because I knew I wanted to use the logo I have for the avatar. So here it is: http://www.geocities.com/coolhatproductions/index.html

I have under the portfolio section a list of videos I've made. Two of them actually have the full 3-5 minutes of the video available to watch. It's a free site, so it had to be low-res, and I don't have a lot of bandwidth, so not everybody can see it at the same time, but I remember someone on another thread asking if they could see something I've made. ...now you can!

One is a video montage from Honduras (2003) -- (I'm in a few clips of that one). The other is a production I made of last Sunday's baptism (I'm not in that one). Hopefully I'll have my new super-hero video available there soon!

There used to be a webpage thread also, but I didn't want to look hard for it, and I didn't want to start a new one.

lol ok.. i know no one cares.

but um.. i update my xanga often... often enough.. ok ok.. FREQUENTLY.
just not lately.. i've been chillin out in california for vacation. so...yeh!

Hmmmmmm....... I think I'm gonna have to join the fun and actually do somethign with my Xanga, if it still exists.
 
Oh the xangas do rule! Although I've just noticed that all apart from one person on my subscription list is from the site, and i don't think the either uses his any more...
 
Wow! I never knew what a Xanga was before I read this thread. I am going to look at everyone's Xanga as I have time, and maybe I will learn how to make one, too. This is sweet.

(I won't be disqualified by virtue of working from MacIntosh, will I?)
 
As you can see from my sig - I've sorted mine out. But dont expect much its emptier than a........ Jewish pork..... eating..... thing... :confused:
 
Hmmm, anyone else think we should start a blogring for Narniafans members?Might be a good way to convert our friends and family members to the fold.
 
A Blog ring is a group of blogs devoted to one subject. There's one for the WCWC, which is full of people who went to the WCWC (but not me, I wasn't envited...)
 
Yeah Smog's got it about right.

In the left hand corner of your blog it will show what groups you're a part of. (usually you can find a group for anything you're interested in) So mine, for example says that I'm part of the 'WCWC' blogring, as well as the 'Order of Bohemian Protestants' and 'The Ultimate Lord_Hawkbat Fan Club'. So now anyone else in those groups will have an easy time finding me.
 
Okay, I didn't know what I was doing when I went looking at blogs, but on some of them I "subscribed" to your blogs, but my user name was already taken, so on Xanga I am inkspot111, if you see me subscribed to your Xanga. I don't know what that even means! I don't have a Xanga yet, but if I get time to mess with it, I will make one. And if you make a blogring for Narnia, I will try to join ... but maybe none of this will happen as there aren't enough hours in the day!
