Less than a year after Hope arrived in Colorado, her aunt & uncle decided that a girl with severe mental traumas AND multiple physical ailments (like extreme heat sensitivity, to name just one) should be perfectly capable of living independently. So they gave her less than three months to move out! My friend, their son, was unspokenly ashamed of his parents.

Hope is the same age as Umbrellaxscenecore. I was powerless to save Umbrella from a forced arranged marriage-- which I know for a fact IS what happened to her; but I rescued Hope. NO ONE ELSE was willing to "adopt" Hope, so I did, and her life is much better now. Anyone who calls it "improper" for her to live under my roof is heartily invited to [censored].

With me, Hope is learning that she has a right to be treated decently, AND a right to be heard. There have been two or three occasions when I made some really stupid mistake, and she actually CALLED ME an idiot! This was music to my ears; it meant that SHE KNEW she was free to speak her mind-- unlike life with her father-in-chromosomes-only.

I said some stuff to you elsewhere. Let me add something here. I am almost seventy-one years old now, and am contending with high blood pressure, joint problems and eyesight problems. The Covid hysteria made it hard for me to get treatment for anything that WASN'T Covid.

But I'm not in a wheelchair yet. I can even run and dance a bit.
