Tilda Swinton fears she will frighten an entire generation of children in real life and on film when The Chronicles of Narnia hits the big screen.
The British actress, who plays the intimidating Jadis, The White Witch in the C.S. Lewis adaptation, is aware it will take time for kids to look at her in the same way after they see her chilling portrayal.
She says, “I know I am going to have children backing away from me for the rest of my life.
“A friend of mine told me how she once froze with fear for no apparent reason on the New York subway. Then she realised that the woman sitting opposite her had played the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz.
“I’m probably going to have the same effect on another generation.”
