I was at the bookstore tonight, and my girlfriend and I found an ad in Wired Magazine for Sony’s Blu-ray Disc format. It has a very large collage of characters, and says “ExperienceBlu” at the top of it. The list of characters includes:
-Superman
-Spider-Man
-Wolverine and Storm (X-Men: The Last Stand)
-Dori (Finding Nemo)
-Jack Sparrow (The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl)
-Harry Potter
-Selene (Underworld)
-Alice (Resident Evil: Apocalypse)
-Scrat (Ice Age)
-Mickey Mouse (Fantasia)
-Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch (Fantastic Four)
-John Legend
and last but not least, sitting near the top:
-Aslan (The Chronicles of Narnia)
In the corner it says “Coming Soon to Blu-ray Disc”:
The Chronicles of Narnia
Fantasia
The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
Finding Nemo
“Scrat” (probably Ice Age, or Ice Age: The Meltdown)
Fantastic 4
X-Men (Probably X-Men: The Last Stand)
John Legend (?)
Harry Potter (the picture is from Goblet of Fire)
Superman (the picture is Brandon Routh, a la Superman Returns)
Before the “Coming Soon” titles, in the fine print, is listed:
Spider-Man
Underworld
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Now, there’s no disc art for Narnia available yet, or word on which version of the film will be available. We’ll do our best to announce it as soon as we know the details!
The ad appeared in the September 2006 edition of WIRED.
