Dawn Treader Soundtrack hitting France on December 6

The official soundtrack listing for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has been listed on the French version of Amazon, Amazon.FR. The score, composed and conducted by David Arnold of James Bond fame, should prove to be as magical and adventurous as the movie that it was written to complement.

It has been listed with a release date of December 6, which is the Monday before the film officially releases. This is a trend for movie score releases though, they typically hit the shelves the week of the release of the film. We can say with confidence that the score will likely be released in the United States on December 7th, where Tuesday is when we typically release new music, home video, books and video games.

There is no listing of the number of tracks on the score, nor what the tracks are called, which would give you an idea of the order of events in the film if they are named like that. There also has been no word if there will be any music written for this film like there has been in the past from artists such as Imogen Heap, Regina Spektor and Switchfoot.

The soundtrack will be published by Sony Classical.

UPDATE: The soundtrack will be released on December 7 in the United States from Sony Music Entertainment.

  3. HUGE QUESTION: Will the new film be released only in Digital Formatting, or will it still be released in 35 mm? We have big plans at our local theater and they are still a 35 mm theater. Let me know where to find that answer. Thanks!

    • I’m pretty sure that they want this in every theater possible. I’m not sure the direct answer to that, but you’ll have to ask your theater manager if they are getting the film.

  4. Really looking forward to this and hope we can see the track listings soon. On another film music forum, someone posted this:
“I have had a couple of conversations with Mr Arnold on Facebook about the Narnia score and he is very proud of it, describing it as fully orchestral. He also said he was hoping to have a 70-75 minute album release of score.”
I would be very happy if it is a longer soundtrack release. By the way Paul (Martin), were you still going to get an interview with David Arnold. It would be very cool to hear more details on the scoring process.
    Thanks.
