Dawn Treader Behind the Scenes: The Transition to Narnia

Go behind the scenes of the transition to Narnia for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  When I was on the set, Ernie Malik took me around the studio and showed me all of the pools where they shot the transition to Narnia.  He explained that they had multiple sizes of pool for shooting all the various shots.  Now you can go behind the scenes of the shoot.  They shot the Dawn Treader parts of the transition outside, in a tank there, which had a huge piece of the Dawn Treader in it (as it was explained to me).

Check out how they submerged the entire set of the room under water.

  1. I love Narnia movies. I think, they had great adventures in all the movies but in this third movie of Narnia wasn’t complete yet because Peter and Susan didn’t play in the whole movie…

    • So you think that they should have put Peter and Susan in the third movie too? That would be very stupid as they are not in the third book, which this “third” movie is based on. Excuse me but your commentary make it sound like you do not know of the Narnia books?

In that case they are written by C.S. Lewis and have the same names as the books.

  2. couldnt c the video…only available to the States. why cant canada ever get these things?????

  3. whats this racism? only US residents can see the video? doesn’t Chronicles of Narnia have any fans outside US? or does Hollywood lives alone on US revenue?

  4. Ahhh man you got to love the advancements of technology, green screens, and blue screens. I think it is amazing how they pull this stuff off! I’ve always though the way they got to Narnia was exciting. Well, in The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe they just practically walked into a wardrobe and they were there. Interesting, not that exciting. In Pricne Caspian, they’re standing in the train station and everything ends up breaking apart going in the direction of the train at a fast pace. Now that was rather awesome. In this one Voyage of the Dawn Treader, seeing a painting that starts to move, pour loads of water out, fill the entire room, sucks the children under, and then to be in Narnia, THATS EPIC! This part gave me chills once Lucy was like “Edmund the painting!” cause I was like “oooo get ready to be trasported backkkk!” =P

  5. ohhh!i can’t see it at all cause i’m in the philippines:( but if the narnia movies is in the youtube i can feel like i’m in the story too,,,,just kidddig

  6. wow, I knew that scene took a lot of work, but that was amazing! I wonder if the scene of them returning to narnia was actually “reversed” to give te effect of them being dry right as they came out of the water?

  7. I think that it is too bad of third part not having peter and susan .I like them sooo much. but I think that its ok with it and have u observed lucy/Georgie she looks beautiful in this third part more than susan
AND i think edmund and lucy are going to leave peter and susan back and c.s lewis is great writter but he is dead it is bad
