Help get ‘The Lion Awakes’ moving with Kickstarter, and see the first Teaser

I’ve been working with the team behind the C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien movie, The Lion Awakes, for about 4 months now.  It’s a feature film, not a documentary, about the writers of our favorite authors.  Writers Darren Jacobs and Louis Markos spent the better part of 3 years writing the screenplay.  Douglas Gresham went through the screenplay with Darren a while back and since then the film has undergone a few re-writes.  The film’s executive producer is also its’ composer, Wernher Pramschufer.  Mark Raymond and I are serving the film in Associate Producer roles.

What we need now is funding for the film.  This isn’t actually going to be the film’s budget, that we’re trying to get on Kickstarter, but rather the funding that we need to put the materials together that we will be presenting to studios, distributors, investors, directors, actors and others that can help get this movie made and in theaters everywhere.

To accomplish this, we’ve set up a Kickstarter campaign.  We’ve got 30 days to reach our goal of $105,000 or we don’t see a single penny of the funding.  So, we also need your help.  Even if you can’t support our film financially, please pray for us that we can get the funding we need, and share the link to our Kickstarter campaign on your Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.  Every link helps.

While we wait for any future Narnia films, what better way could we spend the time than by helping to put together a film featuring the author of Narnia, as well as his friend Tolkien, author of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.  Not only that, but when you help, you can get really cool stuff.  Everything from music from the film’s composer, to posters, to t-shirts, copies of the movie on DVD or Blu-ray when it is released, all the way up to attending the film’s World Premiere.

  4. Excellent Teaser for the film. This film must be made. It is a crucial film and will help people gain perspective of faith and good vs. evil in the context of WWII. We need this understanding and faith for our lives today because although the times have changed, the battle has not.

  6. This is, in my opinion, a movie that absolutely has to be made. The world needs to know who C. S. Lewis really was, especially those who know him only for the Narnia books. I saw the teaser trailer and I think you guys are off to a great start. I can’t support you financially, but I will be praying for you all as you work to get this movie made. Good luck!
