Among all film studios, Fox International is the first in 2011 to cross the $1 billion mark in film grosses from overseas. The next closest studio to this mark is Universal with $484.7 billion. This is the third year in a row that Fox has reached this mark before any other studio has, and its eight year to make over $1 billion internationally.
A large part of this profit came from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Here  are some quotes from the article on Variety:
Fox Intl. has crossed the $1 billion mark in offshore grosses for calendar 2011, marking the third consecutive year in which the studio was the first to reach that milestone.
Fox hit $1 billion thanks to better-than-domestic overseas holiday leftovers like “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” and “Gulliver’s Travels,” as well as 3D toon “Rio.”
Fox said it reached the mark with grosses through Sunday. No studio is even close to crossing $1 billion domestically — Universal is closest with $484.7 million.
This year is Fox’s eighth straight with at least $1 billion internationally and its 11th year overall.
As for Fox’s 2010 holdovers, boffo specialty title “Black Swan” has contributed $191 million to 2011 totals, while “Gulliver’s Travels” and “Chronicles of Narnia” collected $156 million and $115 million this year, respectively. Overall, “Narnia” has cumed $312.6 million; “Gulliver’s Travels,” $194 million.

congradulate to Narnias casts!!!!!! Narnia films is my favorite movies and i cant wait to watch new narnia movie later this year or next year!! i am really curious about people from England that i really wanted to go.
I just don’t see how they could NOT go on to make the next installment. I want “The Magician’s Nephew” so bad! I wish they would just hurry up and gree-light it already!!
I know what you mean! And wow that’s a lotta green!!
LOL, that’s a good one!
While fox may have the money to support the movie, the question is will Magicians Nephew give them a worth while return? Disney decided no on VDT and passed on the franchided. I am fairly confident Fox will soon greenlight MN
I hope so!!
Great going Fox and Congratulations for taking up Narnia 🙂
It was the very best thing for the franchise to move from Disney! The future looks bright!
Great! Thanks for picking us up, Fox!
Great to hear! It’s funny how greedy Disney is in comparison.
In the first paragraph it says Universal made something “billions”, I think that it was meant to say “millions”.
Yeah for FOX!!!!!! (He he Disney)
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats, Fox! Thanks for making the VDT film. 🙂
That is awesome that so many people worldwide would want to watch a Christian-themed movie! I found some cool licensed Narnia Jewelry, check it out! http://www.bobsiemon.com/Category/64-narnia.aspx

Oooh, so pretty! I have the leaf that says “Goodness Triumphs”. I actually got it from a local Christian bookstore, but it’s nice that they have it avalible online. 😉
Very nice. Thank you for sharing!
I am not an admirer of fox movies, but it is good to see some companies holding their ground against so much economic uncertainty.
Hmmm, I like alot of Fox movies, when I come to think about it, I just can’t name them all right now because there’re so many that they’ve made that I personally enjoy. Voyage of the Dawn Treader is probably my #1 fave, though. 😉
Awesome! We love you, Fox! 😉
Beautiful picture, by the way…
I love the colors and the text on the side…

Your majesty,
I appreciate your passion for standing up for what you belive is right and wrong, but I think that we all agreed a while ago that this discussion was over.
Thanks 🙂
By the way, that discussion is over 🙂 But still I’m praying for all and you too reepicheep’s_fangirl
I agree…dicussing was over! (Even thought I agree…)
Thank you, voyager, I appreciate your concern. 🙂
Sorry but this article just came out and I would have put it under the other discussion but the thread was shut down. Before this came out. Those interested may check it out, those not interested are not forced to. The webmaster had asked for my sources and this is one of them.
Fangirl, that sounded a little bossy.
I apologize, High Queen, I didn’t intend on sounding bossy, but I can see what you mean, and I apologize. I just didn’t want people to suddenly feel like they were free to bring up the entire discussion again, which didn’t turn out very well the first time and caused poor Paul alot of trouble. Thank you for explaining, though, I appreciate it. 🙂
Yea Narnia! Sooo cool!
Green light Magician’s Nephew already, though I’d honestly wish they go head on and reconsider to Silver Chair instead.
Amen….
This whole thing about which movie is next is fine with me. I mean, I moved and wouldn’t be able to auddition for SC…but now that they are doing Magician’s Nephew…I have plenty of time. Amen 2x !!!
