Dear Father Christmas,
In our home we are “Narniacts”. We love the stories and the meaning behind all of them. I am a mother to two wonderful young men ages 19 and 11. My husband and I have been married for 22 years and together for 27 years. And we’re not even at 50 years of age, yet. My health has declined over the past 8 1/2 years. The doctors are doing everything they possibly can and so am I. Because of poor health, etc our family cannot take vacations and do other things as a normal family can because I have to always be near a hospital. This gift set would enrich all of our lives. My boys love to read, our 11 year old reads at a 10 grade high school level and he is in 6th grade and it’s his first year at junior high school. Both of my boys cook with me and the Narnia cookbook would teach us all new and exciting dishes that we could share with family and friends. I know there are probably more deserving families than ours, but receiving this wonderful set of books would help our family thru many of long days spent at the doctor/hospital and the cookbook would teach our sons more joys of cooking. Thank you for your time and patience. If we don’t win, the family that does would really deserve it. I know you to be a fair man. Many thanks again.

Dear Father Christmas,
I know I might not be the most worthy person to write to you, but I still will. You may say I’m selfish and self centered after you read this but I’m not afraid of that. Narnia absolutely changed my life. I got it when I was five, about two years and a half after I learned how to read. It was one of the first series of books on my book shelf. I’m not that old, barely 12 but I know what I dream and I want to live those dreams. You see, I live in a small country in Europe and it’s almost impossible to make your dreams come true here. I don’t even think I’m worthy of what I dream of. I always thought I have a good voice and it has always been a dream of mine to become a singer and help the children and the poor people around me. I never actually thought I could do anything but in the last few years my dreams became bigger. I can’t help myself from falling into daydreams between classes and humming catching tunes. I start learning guitar next year, so that’s one step closer but it just seems……impossible. I’m rambling on and on right? Sorry. But I don’t have a friend to tell all of this and you seemed like the best person. I guess I don’t really know why I’m writing this. I’m sorry if I wasted your time with this…

Dear Father Christmas,
I have a simple question for you. Why do you have such a big heart for everyone to give them the christmas they would not have had? And how can I become more like you? I am seventeen years old and live at home with my mom, dad, and four brothers. Our family has been struggling so much over this past year, normally when I see something like this I would let those that need it more write a letter but this would make christmas one of the best because of all we have gone through. My dad is looking for a job that can keep food on the table and a roof over our herds; my mom is full time working while in school; my three older brothers live at home and are going to college; and my little brother is a sophomore in high school. All these different items would be amazing my mom, older brother Devon, and Austin, and I really love cooking for the family and making new things. But especially around the holiday we love to spend time in the kitchen cooking as a family bonding and making great memories. I feel that this would help our family have the best christmas. Even if we do not receive this christmas gift I know that the family that does with enjoy it and appreciate it just as much if not more then our family. Thank you so much for doing this for those people in need in the holiday season, it means so much just to know that there are people out there willing to help. Long live Aslan! For the greater glory of God!
Merry Christmas Father
Forever and ever,
Vincent Surmont
Dear Father Christmas,
Don’t bother sending them to me. I’d love to have them but I can afford them myself so you could do more good giving them to someone else. I just wanted to write and thank you for taking part in this contest. When Narnia was in need you gave gifts of “tools not toys” so that Peter could make his talent for leadership effective, Susan could learn not just to give protective loyalty but also to ask for help with trust, and Lucy could bring healing. Our world is in need and the writings of CS Lewis and his friends and devotees are some of the spiritual tools that will help restore it. Please continue to spread them around to all who would put them to good use.
Your long time admirer

Dear Father Christmas
I wanted to ask you a question. What would you have given Edmund if he was there with his brother and sisters when they met you? What I want for Christmas is to make Aslan happy and have an adventure! I would like the grand prize because I’ve have been looking for a narnian cookbook for a long time. If I won I would cook my family Narnian meals and enjoy the rest of the prizes.
Long live the true King,
Bobby Orme
Dear Sir,
Before I tell you what I would like for Christmas, I would love to ask you a question. How do you get to every child on Christmas Eve? I mean, after all, there are millions of kids in the world. So, here is what I’d like for Christmas. I would very much like to take a Disney Cruise. Yes, I know it is a tall order, but if you could somehow send the message to my parents, I would be very happy. But if that doesn’t work out, can I have the High Time movie… and if that doesn’t work out… I’ll take a candy cane. Also, should I win the grand prize, I would use the cookbook for my home economics class (and then my brother can use it for home economics when I’m in college next year) and as for the other books, I am an avid reader and I kind of ran out of books for my reports this year and could use a few new ones. Enjoy this holy day season and don’t work too hard and eat tons of cookies. Long live the true King!

Kaity Orme
Dear Father Christmas,
It is a good thing that Narnia’s time and the time of our world do not coincide all the time; otherwise, getting all of those packages delivered to two different worlds would really be a challenge! Being a curious sort a person (as you well know!), I have a couple of questions for you. Is it difficult going back and forth between Narnia and this world? Do you have a headquarters in the north of Narnia’s world or just at our North Pole? (Seeing how Narnia is a flat world, at least accoring to Caspian, I’m not sure that Narnia has a North Pole!) Finally, are your reindeer Talking Beasts?
As for what I would like for Christmas, I really like books! ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ are my favorite stories ever! I have read the Narnia books I-don’t-know-how-many-times, and I love learning more about these fantastic places. That is why I would really like to be the lucky person to win the gift set of books that you are offering to give. If I would win, I would share them with the rest of my family, who also love Narnia. The cookbook sounds especially interesting, as I have often wondered how to make eel stew. It would also be fun to whip up some Turkish Delight (non-enchanted, of course!).
Merry Christmas, Sir! Farther up, and further in!

Dear Father Christmas,
I am a Narnian and I too, like Reepicheep, long for Aslan’s Country. I hope and pray one day I will be considered worthy to enter his country. I strive every day to go further up and further in.
I have a question for you that I have wanted to ask for some time but never had the opportunity to do so, until this wonderful contest.
When you gave the Pevensie children their gifts, how did you get the vial of cordial for Queen Lucy from the Fire Flowers in the Valley of the Sun?
My dream is to one day be able to go to England. While I am there I would love to have the opportunity to possibly meet the Pevensies and Douglas Gresham. This is my dream and hope, although it is not possible for me financially wise. I would love to be able to go for Christmas, and therefore I am asking you for this trip this year.
I would love to be privileged and blessed to receive this grand prize pack. The very same books that the grand prize consists of are the ones that I have been hoping to add to my collection one day. The Unofficial Narnia Cookbook is also a book that I have been looking for for years and it has been extremely hard to find. If I am blessed to receive the grand prize, it would be a wonderful way to entertain my blind grandmother. She recently became blind and it is very hard on her and all of us. She likes to be read too and enjoys the Narnia stories very much. This prize pack would enable her to take her mind off of her blindness and focus on other things.
Thank you so much for your time and patience in reading so many of these letters. God bless you all! I pray you have a very merry Christmas, Sir! Long live Aslan!
In the Lion’s name,
Daughter of Eve
