With just three weeks of sales figures available, “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” is one of the top ten DVDs of 2008. From its release on December 2 though December 21, “Prince Caspian” sold over 5.1 million units, generating about $85 million in revenue.

More reason to wonder why Disney decided to drop the Narnia series. You can read more of my comments here: http://live.hollywoodjesus.com/?p=3355
I felt the marketing effort was a bit weak, both for the film and the DVD release. The per-unit average indicates a lot of one-disc versions are being sold.
Even with what look to be good DVD sales for Caspian, regretfully, they lag far behind LWW. The one and only commercial I’ve seen for Prince Caspian was put out by Walmart, and even then I don’t recall if it mentioned the Blu-ray version. I saw much more promotion for Wall-E and Iron Man.
Oh Praise the Lord! Caspian is in the top ten! It may never equal LWW, but it’s good news!
