Petition for The Silver Chair

The Silver Chair

There’s a new petition on change.org asking to make The Silver Chair a soft reboot, not a complete reboot.

The petition’s creator writes: This will give the filmmakers plenty of creative freedom while maintaining just enough to please the fans of the films.

The petition asks that the creators of the film keep the same logo for the film, and cast whomever they can that can realistically reprise their roles, wherever possible, rather than re-cast.

  1. Trying to reprise actors lead to the Green Mist in VDT. I want these stories put on film . I could care less about actor’s careers.

  2. I don’t understand this. Based on what we know Silver Chair is all ready going to be a soft reboot. A complete reboot would be starting the series over again, and besides a petition isn’t going to change anything the filmmakers do.

    • Based on the way things are headed right now, I believe it’s going to be more of a reboot than we think. That said, I do agree with you.

I shared this particular petition because the fan that created it seems to be asking for a little bit of consistency, whether it is in the music, actors, graphical design, or whatever it is.

When Michael Bay made 5 Transformers movies, the first three had the same cast and visual and audio language. They switched the cast for the fourth one, and then also changed the music (mostly) and the fonts for the logo. They changed the logo font again for movie five.

I feel that the Chronicles of Narnia is a series that could have a singular theme for Narnia (similar to the Force theme in Star Wars), that stretches between films. I also feel that the films should have a singular font for the term “Narnia” even if all of the rest of the titles appear differently (like “Star Wars” shows up on all posters and marketing materials with the same shaped letters in those words, whether it’s “Star War: The Last Jedi” or “Solo: A Star Wars Story”).

  3. What is a soft reboot? Let the film makers get on with the job. If they don’t know what they are doing I will not be paying to see the film a second time. Here in the UK many people are having trouble working out what the difference is between a soft Brexit and a hard Brexit or any Brexit at all. Is a soft Brexit what you get when you take a breakfast biscuit out of the packet and don’t eat it straight away?
